ravenpiGood morning, all.  As noted in https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1401703 , I have 15 nodes that I'm trying to deploy, and 2 of them correctly saw their 1 TB disks.  The other 13 report 1 GB disks.  Based on the discovered data (see link), I'm kind of assuming that MAAS "found" the PXE install partition -- either that, or the 1 GB is completely bogus.  Is there a way to specify which drive to provision with?14:01
mupBug #1423721 changed: prefix_filter for probe-and-enlist for virsh/esxi doesn't create nodes with the hostname equal to the domain name <MAAS:Won't Fix by mpontillo> <https://launchpad.net/bugs/1423721>14:19
mupBug #1442360 changed: 1.8b1: Cannot add machine Missing Power Type <oil> <ui> <MAAS:New> <https://launchpad.net/bugs/1442360>14:19

serverascodeanyone know why the install would be asking to continue without a default route?15:29
ravenpiCould you flesh out that question some?  Install of what?  Is it actually *asking* about a default route, or is it asking to continue, and you simply haven't added one?  As I understand it, the clients don't care -- they get to use the MAAS master as a proxy (Squid, port 8000).  The MAAS master, itself, probably needs one.15:32
ravenpi[Note that I'm far from an authority on this -- just bumped my toes against some of that stuff recently, and think -- hope -- I have an understanding of it.)15:33
serverascodewhen a node is started, it goes through the install procedure, but in my case I need to manually click yes to being ok with continuing without a default route15:34
serverascodeI'm guessing that dfault route is supposed to come from maas somewhere...?15:35
serverascodeperhaps something is misconfigured...just not sure what it would be15:35
ravenpiOh.  That, I don't know the answer to.  :(  Yeah, you're able to push the default route from MAAS.  Lemme take a quick peek.15:35
serverascodenot that they even need a default route...15:36
ravenpiClusters -> Cluster Master -> click edit icon for interfaces -> Router IP15:36
serverascodeok yeah that makes sense, thanks ravenpi :)15:38
ravenpiPleasure's mine!15:38

saltlakeexperts, I am looking for some help on deplying openstack: I knwo this is the problem in this area from the syslog http://pastebin.com/B5du7hDU.. exactly this like that deplyment starts but the controller node fails to get the results.. I just don't know what and I would very appreciate if anyone could throw some light on it. I think one problem coud be "if a node commissioned on the maas server has 2 NICs : Port18:10
saltlake 1->connected to provate network and Port 2 connecte to the public network... I was expecting Port 2 to get a dhcp address on the public LAN but don't see that happening .. What do I need to do for that ?18:10
serverascodehi all, how does one do classes of servers in maas? as in I want associate a disk layout with a particular class of servers18:15
serverascodesaltlake: do you have any more logs, I'm no expert but I can't see anything that helps from those logs18:20
mupBug #1442754 was opened: 1.8b2 No UI feedback on "power on" action <ui> <MAAS:New> <https://launchpad.net/bugs/1442754>18:29
saltlakeserverascode : Yes I have more of the syslog18:39
saltlakeserverascode : http://pastebin.com/EdZW3dyv18:40
saltlakeAny help on this would be so useful I am just unable tp proceed and stuck on what seems like something basic !!18:40
serverascodesaltlake: and what is the problem your having exactly?18:54
saltlakeserverascode : What happends is I start a juju boostrap on the maas controller node. On the maas web page I see one node change to "Deplying" and eventually it "Fails deplyment" and juju bootstrap after several minutes exits saying "Boot strapped but failed to deploy"18:55
serverascodebut you can insatll nodes ok?18:56
saltlakeserverascode : On the maas controller the 3 nodes aer successfully commisioned.18:56
saltlakeserverascode : But juju bootstrap OR openstack-install with the landscape option both fail the same way.18:57
serverascodehmm, yeah I don't know anything about juju so I don't think I can help you there18:57
saltlakeSO something is wrong with my setup.18:57
saltlakeserverascode : Can you tell me if my network is setup properly though ?18:57
serverascodebeing able to commission is a good sign I suspect18:58
saltlakeEach node is on 2 networks 1. private and commissioning is happening through this. 2. On the public network and I am wondering why this one does not get a dhcp address18:58
saltlakeis there a guide you have handy to install openstack on ubuntu ?18:59
serverascodethere are lots of guides including what's on the openstack site in terms of instlling on ubuntu 14.0419:01
serverascodehttp://docs.openstack.org/juno/install-guide/install/apt/content/19:01
saltlakeserverascode : This does not use maas at all19:07
saltlakeserverascode ; Just curious: Have you used the steps at http://docs.openstack.org/juno/install-guide/install/apt/content/ without maas and has it worked out ?19:13
serverascodesaltlake: there are as many ways to install openstack as there are people :) yes I run openstack but don't use juju, but if you like juju then I think you should continue on, I just can't personally help you b/c I don't use juju19:24
saltlakeserverascode : I have not got anything working with openstack and have no experience with it and am looking for the shortest path to success .. :-) thanks I will try your link now19:28
