[19:47] <Hen_> I've tried both enabled and disabled
[19:47] <Hen_> upon plugging in the device the ui brings pop up "Detecting devices"

[19:48] <nik90> Did you add the Ubuntu SDK PPA for ubuntu 14.04?
[19:48] <Hen_> nope
[19:48] <Hen_> I just ran apt-get install ubuntu-sdk
[19:49] <Hen_> could it be the wrong version?
[19:50] <nik90> try adding the PPA
[19:50] <nik90> Hen_: it brings in updated version of phablet-tools and etc which could help fix your device detection issue
