[03:59] how to install pd-extended [04:00] meme: https://puredata.info/docs/faq/debian [04:00] !info pd-extended [04:00] Package pd-extended does not exist in utopic [04:00] since, its not in the debian/ubuntu repos, you'll get it from the creators, and build it, or get a binary, or add the referenced PPA [04:01] I have tried the PPA but it did not work [04:02] meme: let the maintainers know you are having issues with it [04:02] thank you, I will tried another way [04:02] maybe they will "fix" it.. or, you can elaborate about what issue you are having [04:04] the PPA is for older Ubuntu releases and I get stuck with the 13.10 PPA [04:04] i wouldnt say "stuck".. [04:04] sorry [04:05] AFAIK, the kxstudio ppa's have it [04:06] great, I'll go there, thanks a lot [04:06] there are more packages there [10:36] hello world .. does anyone know how to get netflix to work i had it on kali but i forget the name of the app maybe pslight ? [18:42] hi. when will ubuntu studio 15.04 come out? [21:26] heccrfz e,eyne [21:26] русская убунту [23:44] Hello? [23:44] rdunn19d: o/ [23:46] Hi. I was wondering if I could ask a "hopefully" quick question. When I searched on Ubuntu Forums, it literally told ME that I was wrong, lol. [23:46] forums? "told" you you were wrong? [23:46] anyways, you can ask whatever you like.. a volunteer may be able to assist you [23:47] "The following errors occurred with your search [23:47] The answer given for the random question was incorrect. [23:47] " [23:47] rdunn19d: what search? [23:47] how can i help you? [23:47] how can i volunteer assistance to you? [23:47] "web browser" menu item broken [23:48] i would "fix" that however you like in xfce [23:48] you can edit the xfce menu, and make it "point to" whatever you like [23:48] https://wiki.xfce.org/howto/customize-menu [23:51] you can also, test as a different user. you can test as the guest user.. i dont have enough information to speculate about what the actual issue is, but, you can reset to the default config for your user [23:53] It's one small little anoyance I've had since installing this. "Web Browser" currently points to "exo-open --launch Web Browser %u". I installed Chrome (for my daughter) and made that the default browser just fine; worked great. Until last night. I did the software update, and next time she logged on, all of her desktop iocons were missing, her wallpapers were gone (she had one for each desktop), and when you click on Web Browser, it giv [23:54] yup.. sounds like more of a problem that you are sharing [23:54] "my web browser link is broken", now, is actually, an update seems to have broken large parts of the UI [23:54] anyways, what would i do? sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade [23:55] i would see that no errors happen, and if they do, i would share them here, or in #xubuntu or #ubuntu if this channel is slow [23:55] i would, as i suggested earlier, test as another user.. this removes my current users config from the equation [23:55] I can probably replace the desktop icons and she can redothe wallpaper. I know I can make "Web Browser" point to anything I want by changing the command, but I wanted to work "with" the system, instead of just replacing that command with the path the the Chrome executable. [23:56] if things are "normal" as other users, then, the issue is likely just in the user config, which, you can remove/rename/delete and have defaults rebuilt [23:56] rdunn19d: working "with the system" would likely look more like, just using the default browser [23:57] rdunn19d: if you want to change the browser, you can, and again, i dont have enough information to speculate about why the menu item isnt working as expected
