[03:25] Arch is evil. [03:30] Haha. ;D [03:30] What? [03:48] A friend recommended that if I really wanted to learn linux from an admin/engineer point of view, install Arch on bare metal. I probably shouldn't have started at 8PM. :) [03:49] I've done it before, but now, during install, it's only wanting to mount my root partition as read-only. [03:49] wrst says he can get it done in half an hour. [03:49] :-| [03:50] Of course, when you break something and have to re-install every week that'll do it. ;) [03:51] lol [03:52] Yeah, I can see how it can make you faster and improve one's 1337 h4x0r skillz. [03:54] (he doesn't actually re-install every week, but he's done it a few times.) [03:58] Welp... apparently it's not good for me to be working on this late at night. I was trying to mount sd1 instead of sda1. Problem solved. Not Arches fault. [19:59] Afternoon, folks. [19:59] Howdy. [20:16] How's it going, Unit193? [20:19] I'm alive? Had to fix a patch that uses ^M line endings. >_< [20:19] You? [20:27] Good. Testing out some time based events... which can only be scheduled on 15 minute intervals, so that can easily eat up a lot of time. [20:27] It's been a long day. :) [20:28] Tried out Manjaro and Void in a VM last night, both Xfce versions. [20:29] Unit193: Void's a new one on me. Another package manager, though? Really? [20:29] :) [20:30] Don't we have plenty? [20:31] Clearly not! Another! [20:31] "its package manager and build system have been written from scratch." [20:33] Yeeeep. Uses LibreSSL though. [20:34] ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ [20:47] I did Arch installed last night, but my lan adapter isn't working. I followed the instructions for the dhcpcd service, but doesn't seem to want to work. going to dig into that tonight. [21:09] Unit193: I can do it to a working gnome in 30 minutes after doing it a few times [21:09] I beat my head on a wall for half a day first go around with it :)
