[14:17] hey hey [14:17] I have a question about the channels for UOS [14:17] there's #ubuntu-uds which has 1403 in the topic [14:18] and then there's #ubuntu-uos which is invite only [14:18] does anyone have an idea what's happening there? [14:19] seems like -uos is forwarding to -uds [14:20] AlanBell, you about perhaps? [14:20] balloons: yes [14:22] AlanBell, we're having a little confusion because of the older #ubuntu-uds-* channels. Can you help close those down / point them to the new #ubuntu-uos-* channels? [14:22] specifically, close/migrate #ubuntu-uds to #ubuntu-uos to start [14:23] I can't do it, and I am a little unsure why it happened [14:24] AlanBell, is there someone who can? I pinged you because I was told you set it up. My apologies if that's not the case :-) [14:24] tsimpson perhaps? [14:24] it could be because of udsbotu [14:24] AlanBell: What's the error? [14:24] (Are you trying from this account?) [14:25] no error, I just have no superpowah any more [14:26] people will seamlessly join the uds channels I think [14:27] but I don't know why they were set up and fowarded, might have been a prior UDS. Either way *now* isn't the time to break it all :) [14:28] maybe Pici knows? [14:28] more interestingly it seems that anonymous web users are not voiced in the channels [14:29] well, not in #ubuntu-uds-appdev2 at least, presume they are all the same [14:30] no, they are voiced, but the redirect is not seamless, you get left pointing to the invite only channel [14:31] well summit is currently pointing people to the UOS channels. Ideally we will use the UOS channels, they will be logged, have a bot etc. But it's more important the channel is setup properly, so if we need to switch . . . [14:31] well [14:31] #ubuntu-uos-appdev-2 and #ubuntu-uos-appdev-1 both are "invite only" [14:31] popey, it's listed as #ubuntu-uos-appdev [14:32] well thats wrong, there's two tracks [14:32] mhall119: ^ [14:32] and the other is #ubuntu-uds-appdev-2 [14:32] so it's SUPER confusing [14:32] popey: balloons: the first room I created didn't have -1 on it [14:32] I can add that if desired [14:33] it should have, please, to avoid confusion [14:33] (although they both redirect) [14:33] I would argue against it actually [14:33] why? [14:33] the 2 room should be the only one with it.. but honestly it just needs to use the same naming scheme [14:33] uos or uds [14:33] so I'm not really concerned about -1 or no [14:34] ok, I don't want to derail or occupy the time of everyone, I just want there to be the right / appropriate channels match in summit and irc [14:34] mhall119: you choose, whatever, you're the one having to do the work [14:34] I assume AlanBell cant do anything about the redirects? [14:35] nope, but I am doing a little guidance right now . . . [14:36] AlanBell: let me know if we're using #ubuntu-uos-appdev or #ubuntu-uos-appdev-1 and I'll make any needed changes in Summit [14:39] http://people.ubuntu.com/~alanbell/uos.png [14:40] mhall119: udsbotu was in the list of channels you gave me - but then it has been bounced across to s/uos/uds/ [14:40] udsbotu: channels [14:40] Error: That operation cannot be done in a channel. [14:40] woah, no it isn't [14:41] 14:40 ##tsimpson-bots, #ubuntu-irc, #ubuntu-uds-appdev-2, #ubuntu-uos-appdev, #ubuntu-uos-cloud, #ubuntu-uos-cloud-2, #ubuntu-uos-community, #ubuntu-uos-convergence, #ubuntu-uos-core, #ubuntu-uos-plenary, and #ubuntu-uos-showandtell [14:43] #ubuntu-uds-appdev-2 is wrong, Summit has it listed as #ubuntu-uos-appdev-2 [14:46] * Pici wanders in [14:46] let me fix the redirections [14:56] Pici: erm, not sure that is right [14:56] just need to open #ubuntu-uos-appdev-2 [14:56] and #ubuntu-uos [14:56] oops [14:57] uh [14:58] yeah, people are getting unable to join #ubuntu-uos-appdev-2 [14:58] sorry, you should be able to join now [14:58] I messed up. [14:59] okay, let me do #ubuntu-uds/#ubuntu-uos now [15:00] (correctly) [15:04] Pici, this looks better [15:04] awesome, ty [15:04] np === mkv is now known as m4v [20:44] Pici: can you create #ubuntu-uos-overflow for us? [20:44] that isn't registered and it's empty, [20:44] anyone can register it [20:44] (including: you)
