[04:07] good morning [04:10] http://news.softpedia.com/news/Ubuntu-16-04-LTS-to-Use-Systemd-s-Networkd-Instead-of-Ifupdown-480536.shtml [04:46] cfhowlett: nihao :p [04:46] lotuspsychje, greetings!@ [04:46] how are you mate [04:47] lotuspsychje, enjoying life. you? [04:47] great here tnx [11:13] Hiyas all === JanC_ is now known as JanC [17:11] oh my Tux what a complete idiot [17:11] O_O [17:12] supply answer, "no i won't do it" [17:12] wat? [18:41] man, that dude must have a comprehension issue :-) [18:41] i'm really getting so frustrated [18:42] LOL .. been there too :-) [18:42] i've said exactly what's been needed first time every time and instead we get these hour long breaks of him/her going off on massive tangents [18:49] EriC^^: ah there you are :P [18:49] this guy is a nightmare [18:50] I ahve like 10 RPI2 boxes, he's be better off just re-imaging the thing and start over, and copy the small number of files in /home/$USER that he wants to restore. [18:51] yeah i didn't realise it was just user data he was after [18:51] due to the... breaks in communication [18:51] the thing is, we can't get the damned parted output out of him [18:51] so he's making this an absolute misery [18:52] Yeah, you asked for the partd data like 5 times he wont pastebinit [18:52] "oh noes mah super secret dataz" [18:52] :D [18:52] Porn :-) [18:54] EriC^^: http://techblo.gg/stuff/blargh.PNG [18:54] bearing in mind that was an hour ago :( [18:55] :D [18:56] much facepalm [18:57] daftykins, our best friend is back [18:57] * daftykins looks [19:05] I don't understand how burning a Raspbian image to an SD card is a Ubuntu support issue [19:06] it's not, but we're a charity after all ;) [19:07] lol .. indeed [19:07] oh my Tux that was a bombshell [19:07] because there is always a fool who answers, i really understand some early helpers now. [19:07] i dont know anything about raspberry pi's [19:07] hmm? :) [19:08] i dont get why he has to backup his hdd to fix the router issue then dd it back [19:08] nah there's nothing about router from what i understand, though i've been ignoring him for a while now [19:09] just wants to backup the SD card that raspberry pis run from [19:09] oh ok [19:09] The Raspbian image is a Debian compressed image file burned to a FAT32 SD card. I think there is a Ubuntu-MATE image for it now also. [19:10] All he really needs to do is SCP his $HOME directory, re-image the SD card, and copy it back. [19:10] and now we know he won't due to laziness :( [19:11] MTP still seems to be an ongoing joke in Linux land, eh? [19:11] always someone coming in with an android device that can't mount it [19:11] Yes, that's the whoel thing in a nushell, he "didn't want to SSH" to the RPI box. [19:26] why does lsfret seem to have half a clue now 0o [19:26] * daftykins blinks [19:32] Someone should make a startx script to avoid these issues .. [19:32] * as standard. [19:32] haha [19:33] or make an ubottu factoid for it [19:34] the ops have ignored every single edit and every single factoid creation i've suggested. [19:34] i don't know who is in charge of it [19:35] i think we need to go to #ubot93 ?? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IRC/Bots [19:37] I'm not sure who is in charge of Factoids these days. [19:42] i've wanted to replace !ati with !amd for months [20:29] I think your RPI image friend is back daftykins :-) [20:31] HOLD ME BACK, BOYS [20:31] :D [20:32] "didn't you get a hamer with that rPI ?" [20:42] fgrew is the guy you were working with earlier daftykins :-) [20:42] but using a different name [20:42] *nod* [20:42] could tell due to the utterly terrible English [20:43] Yeah, and the Raspbian image name "image'+date'+.img gave it away [20:44] That'w why I backed off it real quick, was not going down that rat hole again. [20:45] :D [20:53] hrmm i am really not keen on this idea of snappy replacing all .deb packages [20:53] granted it may be far away, but it doesn't sound wise [20:55] * ki7mt thinks It's gonna cause allot of folks to run from Ubuntu [20:55] i agree [20:56] I like Snappy, for mobi apps, but I'm not so sure about desktop use. The again, I just started playing with it.
