theimortal1974is anybody here using ubuntu unity on a chromebook?04:36
theimortal1974or can tell me if i can get a browser other than chrome on unity and an arm processor.  the main reason why i converted my chromebook to linux is so i don't have to use that pos google chrome browser.04:37
RAOFYou should be able to use Firefox or whatever you want from the archives.04:41
theimortal1974that would be great.  i fricking hate google chrome.04:43
theimortal1974the reason why i'm asking is i'm away from my chromebook and i left it downloading and installing ubuntu unity so i haven't had a chance to use it and i won't for another hour04:43
theimortal1974i love the extensions google chrome has that no other browser has but the browser sucks otherwise.  not surprising that a os built around it would suck at times as well.04:44
theimortal1974i was surprised how easy it was to get ubuntu on the device.  i thought i read one time that i had to unscrew something that has a sticker over it that breaks your warranty if you remove it.  it's past warrenty anyway.04:46
theimortal1974i haven't had much luck with linux in the past but that was because i was trying to replace windows.  that's not what i'm trying to do now.  just to replace having to use google chrome04:47
theimortal1974and the crap os with it04:47
RAOFIIRC that's to install an unsigned image. We can't sign Ubuntu images because we don't have Google's key :)04:47
theimortal1974i know that opera has a linux arm based version and that's my favorite browser.04:49
theimortal1974does opera for linux have the same addon capabilities as the windows version?04:51
theimortal1974either way just being able to use something other than chrome has majorly increased my chromebook's value.04:52
theimortal1974thanks for your help raof05:02

mzanettipstolowski, hey, have you ran autopilot tests on the silo?10:40
mzanettipstolowski, I have 42 failures...10:40
mzanettimight be "I'm using it wrong"10:40
tsdgeosdednick: ping10:42
dednicktsdgeos: yo10:42
dednickmzanetti: looking now10:42
pstolowskimzanetti, no, i haven't, i'm not even sure how, haven't been running it for very long time10:42
tsdgeosdednick: what are you using for scrub bar? because i also need one so i guess we have to use the same one :D10:43
dednicktsdgeos: slider.10:43
tsdgeosdednick: +texts?10:43
dednicktsdgeos: you doing the audio bit of the same document?10:43
tsdgeosfor currenttime/totallength10:43
tsdgeosdednick: "yes"10:43
tsdgeosnot sure which document you mean :D10:44
pstolowskimzanetti, can you spot anythine click scope / review related in the failed tests?10:44

dednicktsdgeos: sorry, wrong link ;)10:44

tsdgeosdednick: kind of yes10:44
tsdgeosdednick: i'm doing audio card support in the dash10:44
dednicktsdgeos: give me a minute. i'll upload my work.10:45
mzanettipstolowski, I think it's my setup... there really shouldn't be so many failing... just asked in the hope you had them pass already so I wouldn't need to do10:45
tsdgeosthat you could say it's similar to what "Audio Preview (Audio not started/ paused)" section is10:45
dednicktsdgeos: lp:~nick-dedekind/unity8/inline-video-preview10:47
tsdgeosk, let me see10:47
dednicktsdgeos: make tryPreviewInlineVideo10:47
dednicktsdgeos: although you'll need to change some values to some local content10:47
dednicki haven't got around to mocking shizzle yet.10:48
tsdgeosmeh i need the overlay ppa?10:50
tsdgeosdednick: ↑ ?10:50
dednicktsdgeos: erm. i based it on the rotation branch10:51
tsdgeosit complains about unity-shell-application here10:51
dednicktsdgeos: eh. give me a minute. i don't think it actually requires the rotaion stuff yet.10:52
tsdgeosdednick: i think i've hacked it to work10:52
dednicktsdgeos: you can probably just merge the last revision into trunk10:53
tsdgeosk :)10:53
tsdgeosmeh i still need the overlay ppa11:06

tsdgeosmzanetti: now12:32
mzanettitsdgeos, just finished the meeting :)12:32
tsdgeossorry :/12:32
mzanettitsdgeos, but I was able to handle it, no prob12:32
mzanettitsdgeos, one question which I think the answer is yes, but I'd like to confirm with you first:12:33
mzanettican we open a preview and scroll to the commenting/rating section automatically?12:33
mzanettiI guess we know the position, but it's quite async which might cause troubles12:33
mzanettii.e. we might know the position only after the code to scroll has been triggered and such things12:33
tsdgeosmzanetti: it's tricky basically because we have no idea of what things are12:34
mzanettitsdgeos, we should know about the widget-type, right?12:34
tsdgeosmzanetti: well but there's not just one per preview12:34
tsdgeosthere's N12:34
tsdgeosbesides scrolling to the preview directly is kind of weird, we're skipping the app name/images?12:35
mzanettitsdgeos, not sure if having multiple rating-input-widgets is really a use case. might be enough to scroll to the first of them12:35
mzanettitsdgeos, the idea is to have a "comment" button on the card which directly takes you to the commenting stuff in the preview12:36
mzanettitsdgeos, patrici__ is just exploring this, not decided yet. I said I want to check with you first if the scrolling is feasible at all12:36
tsdgeosi guess it's doable12:37
mzanettiack. I'll let her know, noting the possible issues (async building of the preview)12:37
patrici__mzanetti, tsdgeos: the idea is that on tap of the 'comment' icon, user is taken to card preview. The screen is anchored to the ‘comment widget’ although it remains scrollable.  The OSK is also displayed.12:38
patrici__'doable' sounds brilliant to me ;))12:39
mzanettipatrici__, yeah... Please note that the preview page might be slow to build up (network interaction involved) which might make it look jumpy and odd during the time it's loaded12:39
patrici__mzanetti: mmm... we'll need to consider that for sure, we can test it first12:40
tsdgeosdednick: i totally want to use your scrubbar but you have lots of logic into it which i don't really need12:47
dednicktsdgeos: yeah, but you can at least leach it out. :)12:48
dednicktsdgeos: i'll probably sort out the encapsulation later.12:48
tsdgeosi guess i can just copy it for now and see if we can just refactor it later yeah12:49
mzanettidednick, hey, can you drop that whitespace please so I can rebuild the silo13:02
dednickmzanetti: sorry, got distracted. give me a minute13:02
