=== tmpRAOF is now known as RAOF [04:36] is anybody here using ubuntu unity on a chromebook? [04:37] or can tell me if i can get a browser other than chrome on unity and an arm processor. the main reason why i converted my chromebook to linux is so i don't have to use that pos google chrome browser. [04:41] You should be able to use Firefox or whatever you want from the archives. [04:43] that would be great. i fricking hate google chrome. [04:43] the reason why i'm asking is i'm away from my chromebook and i left it downloading and installing ubuntu unity so i haven't had a chance to use it and i won't for another hour [04:44] i love the extensions google chrome has that no other browser has but the browser sucks otherwise. not surprising that a os built around it would suck at times as well. [04:46] i was surprised how easy it was to get ubuntu on the device. i thought i read one time that i had to unscrew something that has a sticker over it that breaks your warranty if you remove it. it's past warrenty anyway. [04:47] i haven't had much luck with linux in the past but that was because i was trying to replace windows. that's not what i'm trying to do now. just to replace having to use google chrome [04:47] and the crap os with it [04:47] IIRC that's to install an unsigned image. We can't sign Ubuntu images because we don't have Google's key :) [04:49] i know that opera has a linux arm based version and that's my favorite browser. [04:51] does opera for linux have the same addon capabilities as the windows version? [04:52] either way just being able to use something other than chrome has majorly increased my chromebook's value. [05:02] thanks for your help raof === jzheng_afk is now known as jzheng === alan_g is now known as alan_g|vt [08:51] cimi: https://code.launchpad.net/~aacid/unity8/borderSourceRegression/+merge/258883 ? [08:58] mzanetti, tsdgeos hey, ubuntu/landing-033 is ready for testing. review-editing works fine. let me know if you're happy about the other unity8 changes there [08:58] * tsdgeos checks what's in 33 [08:59] mzanetti, tsdgeos however if you try to install this silo, see my comment in the sheet [09:00] that's weird [09:02] pstolowski, already installed it on my device. [09:03] pstolowski, I'm afraid I can't do reviews at all [09:03] yeah... no review box showing up here [09:04] oh, and yes, my unity is from the ppa too :/ [09:08] mzanetti, yeah, that's the issue :) [09:08] mzanetti, the old version doesn't understand the new widget [09:09] tsdgeos, I was having a look already [09:11] cimi: :) === duflu_ is now known as duflu [09:27] yay! updated a review in the store [09:27] this is nice [09:29] we can finally vote 1 star for feature requests! === jzheng is now known as jzheng_afk [10:38] dednick, https://code.launchpad.net/~nick-dedekind/unity8/fix-autopilot-failures-1446846/+merge/258411/comments/646815 [10:40] pstolowski, hey, have you ran autopilot tests on the silo? [10:40] pstolowski, I have 42 failures... [10:40] might be "I'm using it wrong" [10:42] dednick: ping [10:42] tsdgeos: yo [10:42] mzanetti: looking now [10:42] mzanetti, no, i haven't, i'm not even sure how, haven't been running it for very long time [10:43] dednick: what are you using for scrub bar? because i also need one so i guess we have to use the same one :D [10:43] tsdgeos: slider. [10:43] dednick: +texts? [10:43] tsdgeos: you doing the audio bit of the same document? [10:43] for currenttime/totallength [10:43] dednick: "yes" [10:44] not sure which document you mean :D [10:44] mzanetti, can you spot anythine click scope / review related in the failed tests? [10:44] tsdgeos: https://youtu.be/LKkAL1AEam8 [10:44] tsdgeos: sorry, wrong link ;) [10:44] tsdgeos: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iftJ0_Ypw4Hv2n3LO8kiOM7WSfAlQlImHHEPPPIlu_U/edit# [10:44] was looking for a streaming example on youtube to test :) [10:44] dednick: kind of yes [10:44] dednick: i'm doing audio card support in the dash [10:45] tsdgeos: give me a minute. i'll upload my work. [10:45] pstolowski, I think it's my setup... there really shouldn't be so many failing... just asked in the hope you had them pass already so I wouldn't need to do [10:45] that you could say it's similar to what "Audio Preview (Audio not started/ paused)" section is [10:47] tsdgeos: lp:~nick-dedekind/unity8/inline-video-preview [10:47] k, let me see [10:47] tsdgeos: make tryPreviewInlineVideo [10:47] tsdgeos: although you'll need to change some values to some local content [10:48] i haven't got around to mocking shizzle yet. [10:50] meh i need the overlay ppa? [10:50] dednick: ↑ ? [10:51] tsdgeos: erm. i based it on the rotation branch [10:51] it complains about unity-shell-application here [10:52] tsdgeos: eh. give me a minute. i don't think it actually requires the rotaion stuff yet. [10:52] dednick: i think i've hacked it to work [10:53] tsdgeos: you can probably just merge the last revision into trunk [10:53] k :) [11:06] meh i still need the overlay ppa [11:06] can somoene past the apt url? [11:08] got it [11:08] https://launchpad.net/~ci-train-ppa-service/+archive/ubuntu/stable-phone-overlay === MacSlow is now known as MacSlow|lunch [11:30] tsdgeos, you around? === alan_g is now known as alan_g|lunch === MacSlow|lunch is now known as MacSlow [12:32] mzanetti: now [12:32] tsdgeos, just finished the meeting :) [12:32] sorry :/ [12:32] tsdgeos, but I was able to handle it, no prob [12:33] tsdgeos, one question which I think the answer is yes, but I'd like to confirm with you first: [12:33] can we open a preview and scroll to the commenting/rating section automatically? [12:33] I guess we know the position, but it's quite async which might cause troubles [12:33] i.e. we might know the position only after the code to scroll has been triggered and such things [12:34] mzanetti: it's tricky basically because we have no idea of what things are [12:34] tsdgeos, we should know about the widget-type, right? [12:34] mzanetti: well but there's not just one per preview [12:34] there's N [12:35] besides scrolling to the preview directly is kind of weird, we're skipping the app name/images? [12:35] tsdgeos, not sure if having multiple rating-input-widgets is really a use case. might be enough to scroll to the first of them [12:36] tsdgeos, the idea is to have a "comment" button on the card which directly takes you to the commenting stuff in the preview [12:36] tsdgeos, patrici__ is just exploring this, not decided yet. I said I want to check with you first if the scrolling is feasible at all [12:37] i guess it's doable [12:37] ack. I'll let her know, noting the possible issues (async building of the preview) [12:38] mzanetti, tsdgeos: the idea is that on tap of the 'comment' icon, user is taken to card preview. The screen is anchored to the ‘comment widget’ although it remains scrollable. The OSK is also displayed. [12:39] 'doable' sounds brilliant to me ;)) [12:39] patrici__, yeah... Please note that the preview page might be slow to build up (network interaction involved) which might make it look jumpy and odd during the time it's loaded [12:40] mzanetti: mmm... we'll need to consider that for sure, we can test it first [12:47] dednick: i totally want to use your scrubbar but you have lots of logic into it which i don't really need [12:48] tsdgeos: yeah, but you can at least leach it out. :) [12:48] tsdgeos: i'll probably sort out the encapsulation later. [12:49] i guess i can just copy it for now and see if we can just refactor it later yeah [13:02] dednick, hey, can you drop that whitespace please so I can rebuild the silo [13:02] mzanetti: sorry, got distracted. give me a minute === alan_g|lunch is now known as alan_g [13:05] mzanetti: done [13:06] thanks === dandrader is now known as dandrader|afk [13:19] seb128: hey!
