LinDolhi all :)01:32
LinDolgood morning ;)01:32

darkxstHi XoseDuncan09:37
darkxstw09:37
darkxstXoseDuncan, was apport enabled in /etc/default/apport?09:38
Forageever since I updated from 14.10 to 15.04 I have a weird issue with my mouse in combination with a dual monitor setup09:38
Forageat the login screen, as well as after logging in, I can't move my mouse from the left screen to the right one09:38
Forageboth monitors are working though09:38
ForageI never had this with a previous Ubuntu and it's not GNOME 3.16 related either09:38
Foragewith 14.10 I had 3.14 and it was no problem. With 15.04 I first had 3.14 with the problem and updating to 3.16 didn't fix it09:38
ForageThere is one workaround to "fix" it. At login I have to push my mouse against the right edge of the left monitor when I hit the "Return" key at the password prompt. Everything is working properly again after the login when I do this09:38
ForageWhen I forget to do this at the login screen then the same result can be achieved after logging in by doing the same with my mouse and triggering a Shell restart with ALT+F2 and executing the "r" command09:38
ForageWhat could be the cause of the problem and how do I fix it?09:38
darkxstXoseDuncan, if apport is not making crash files its really hard to debug startup crashes09:39
Forage(and good morning by the way)09:39
darkxstXoseDuncan, can you try install lightdm, and try log into GNOME that way09:39
darkxstForage, I use 3-4 monitors and never seen that09:40
Forageweird09:40
ForageI never had it in previous releases either09:40
darkxstadmittedly though I probably don't use mouse much in the login screen09:40
Forageyou would have noticed it after login then09:41
darkxstXoseDuncan, apt-get install lightdm09:41
darkxstthen tell it to use lightdm when asked09:41
Forageis it all coming down to fglrx again?09:41
darkxstForage, no issues ever after login09:41
darkxstForage, maybe I use NVIDIA blobs09:42
darkxstXoseDuncan, no stay discussing here, there will be more steps to come09:43
darkxst(or come back once you tried that)09:44
darkxstForage, what does `xrandr -q` say?09:44
Foragedarkxst: http://pastebin.com/uFbEMtSn09:45
darkxstForage, vertically stacked monitors?09:46
darkxstno dont worry09:46
Forageno, horizontal09:47
darkxstDFP4 is left and DFP5 is right?09:47
darkxstand you can't move from DPF4 to DFP5?09:47
Foragethe right hand monitor is set to primary09:47
Forageand yes the mouse is on DPF4 at startup09:48
darkxstyes that is DFP509:48
darkxstdoes it work in Unity09:48
Forageno clue09:49
Foragewouldn't want to install that ;-)09:49
darkxstForage, its a good way to determine if this driver related or GNOME related09:49
darkxstyou could always try a Live USB or so09:50
Foragedarkxst: true09:50
Foragewouldn't trying lightdm be a better test?09:51
ForageA live USB would be a bit trickier to get the same setup again but I can give it a go to compare both of them clean first09:53
darkxstForage, sure, try lightdm09:54
darkxstbut a live USB setup with persistant storage, behaves like an isntalled system on 2nd boot09:54
darkxstso long as you select that option when creating it09:54
ForageI'll perform some tests on a live usb. Hopefully it can be easily reproduced. I'd hate trying all that stuff on my system again09:58
Foragetoo bad Ubuntu doesn't have a rollback function ;-)09:59
Foragep.s. the channel topic is outdated09:59
=== ChanServ changed the topic of #ubuntu-gnome to: Ubuntu GNOME Development & Support | Latest LTS Release: 14.04.2 LTS | Latest Stable Release 15.04 | Download from http://ubuntugnome.org/download/ | Pastes to http://paste.ubuntu.com | http://ubuntugnome.org/getting-involved/
darkxstForage, better?10:00
Forageperfect :-)10:00
* Forage using a VirtualBox Windows machine to create a dualboot Ubuntu USB stick10:36
ForageToo bad there isn't a proper Linux alternative for YUMI...10:36
Foragetesting time, brb10:39
Forageman, I'm I glad I'm using Ubuntu GNOME. Using Ubuntu with Unity for a bit feels like going back 8 years10:53
Foragedarkxst: I was unable to reproduce the issue on the live USB versions. Unfortunately I did not create my persistence file big enough to try it with fglrx...10:55
ForageI expected 256MB for both to be big enough but it needs twice the amount10:55
Foragedarkxst: I did notice a setting called "sticky edges" in Ubuntu which Ubuntu GNOME does not have. Is this a Unity thing or is the settings hidden for Ubuntu GNOME and could this feature not working properly be the cause of the issue?10:58
darkxstForage, they are pointer barriers, don't think GNOME uses them in the same ways as Unity though10:58
darkxstGNOME has one at the bottom, and sides of the top panel10:59
Forageindeed11:00
ForageIn Unity it causes the mouse pointer to stop at the edge for the whole height of the screen11:00
Foragebut I can move it to the other screen11:01
darkxstthere is no barrier between monitors in GNOME11:02
ForageOK, then I'm off recreating the live USB with a bigger persistence file11:02
darkxstForage, Im off the night11:07
Foragegood night!11:07
Rodrigo5244open a .html file opens epiphany with two windows.12:39
Rodrigo5244Is that normal?12:39
Rodrigo5244It opens two windows or two tabs when I try to open one file.12:42
Rodrigo5244The first window or tab is the most visited page.12:42
towoAnyone seem to have the problem of all the accelerator shortcuts parsing going arse up when plugging in a thinkpad keyboard?13:24
