[17:01] <cjwatson> bauxit: Ubuntu has a text mode installer (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/netboot/; despite the name, doesn't have to be netbooted, you can burn the mini.iso to a CD or write it to a USB stick and go from there).  However, we don't support Linux Mint here; you'll have to ask them if they have a similar facility.
