=== JanC_ is now known as JanC [17:05] hello [17:13] id have a inux question, is this the right place? [17:28] my question: i disabled my hdmi output to my tv on boot by a "video=HDMI-A-1:d" in the kernel command line. but i sometimes want to use it. is there a way of enabling it while the system is running? === marcone is now known as marcone_de [17:49] ?? [21:13] There is a relatively new kernel configurstion parameter, CONFIG_DEVMEM, which for some reason "is not set" for Ubuntu, and therefore demicode does not work. I found this: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2015-May/057250.html and so had expected it to be set to yes by now, but in Kernel 4.1RC6 it still isn't. Does anybody know why? [21:34] dsmythies, i thought we fixed that in the wily kernel, so it should be fixed for mainline builds, which is what i assume you are running [21:34] dsmythies, could you file a bug against linux please asking about it and pointing all that info out, and assign it to "apw" [21:35] dsmythies, and drop the LP# number here please as well [21:35] apw: O.K. [21:54] Note: for unknown reasons I always say demicode when I mean to say dmidecode. [22:00] apw (or anyone esle that is interested): bug 1462822 [22:00] bug 1462822 in linux (Ubuntu) "Kernel configuration parameter CONFIG_DEVMEM is not set, it should be" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1462822
