[11:32] morning [12:28] <_stink_> yo [12:32] I love the Python community. I contacted the PyImageSearch guy and he sent me a free hard copy of his book to give away at the next GRPUG (which is a talk about OpenCV) [12:34] I'm less enthused about O'Reilly's "partnering" changes. It's all ebooks now [12:34] good morning [12:35] brousch: yeah. [12:35] though I completely understand the change [12:35] I guess, but it was so nice to get a box of relevant books from them [12:35] si si [12:36] I was spoiled [12:36] heh, us too [13:17] egon was right, print is dead [13:27] so many things are dead and people don't even know it yet [13:28] mrgoodcat: whoa deep. [13:28] books (paper of any kind really), cable tv, landlines, privacy, etc [13:29] life is time before death. [13:29] i got sling tv and a digital antenna [13:29] 1000 times happier than when i was paying for cable [13:29] sling tv is targeted squarely at people like me who hate paying for cable or who never have (read millenials) [13:30] millennials* [13:38] Print is dying. It's not dead yet. [13:41] print will never die before me. You can have my paper book from my cold dead heads. [13:59] The Roku is perfect for us because I have a hard time paying for something that is pre-programmed with stuff I couldn't care less about [13:59] and paying handsomely at that [14:04] i would really like a programmed channel for kodi, that would be really cool. [14:05] channels even, so I could say, when you click this channel it plays this content at this time of day. [14:06] Well, I understand the need for live programming [14:06] I get that in spades [14:06] but having pre-programmed content that can't be changed (eg: it's a Pawn Stars Marathon) is pretty silly. [14:07] I know some folks use TV as background noise though so maybe I'm the fuddy-duddy here. [14:21] I love a good NCIS marathon on USA :) [14:45] i use my tv as background noise [14:46] usa not a OTA channel and not on sling so i dont get it anymore [14:46] mrgoodcat: I always disliked that. I know that many many people do it. === dagans is now known as phwelo_ === phwelo_ is now known as ^phwelo_
