[05:22] kickinz1, Linux ubuntuserver 3.16.0-30-generic #40~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 15 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux [05:22] linocisco: ok thanks, looking. === frankban_ is now known as frankban [07:18] http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=862620 [07:19] but root@ubuntuserver:/# sudo aptitude install ntpd [07:19] Couldn't find package "ntpd". However, the following [07:19] packages contain "ntpd" in their name: [07:19] cyrus-nntpd ntpdate cyrus-nntpd-2.4 openntpd [07:29] http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/11734249/ === Den_Beiren is now known as DenBeiren [08:06] Good morning. [08:36] linocisco, use openntpd [08:38] kickinz1, late response. I have restarted whole server and now installing new server fresh [08:38] kickinz1, thanks anyway [08:39] linocisco, you must have missed my message from more than 2 hours about using openntpd... [08:39] linocisco, 5:44 UTC: linocisco, you can install openntpd ntp server, and set it to listen on the desired local addresses. [08:40] kickinz1, i m sorry I didn't see it. may be my network card slept [08:40] linocisco, I hope you will find your way. [08:40] kickinz1, thinking so [09:25] hi all [09:26] my wget never works behind wpad proxy with authentication. I tried many manuals and referece on internet [09:27] ubuntu server is behind wpad proxy. I can create apt.conf and put some entries for http and apt proxy entries so apt-get commands work but wget never works [09:41] linocisco, did you try to customize wgetrc? [09:41] kickinz1, how? [09:41] kickinz1, now i got another problem. I changed from DHCP to static ip for eth0. and nslookup doesnt work [09:42] linocisco, did you add a nameserver entry to your static config? [09:43] kickinz1, I put nameserver x.x.x.x [09:43] kickinz1, also under /etc/resolv.conf [09:44] kickinz1, got it now [09:44] linocisco, wget: you need to create a .wgetrc file in your user directory then look here http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/manual/html_node/Proxies.html [10:00] kickinz1, Error parsing proxy URL http://username:password@host:8080: Bad port number. [10:01] kickinz1, when I tried to set under /etc/wgetrc [10:20] linocisco, you must adjust to your wpad proxy settings, [13:02] Do we have a way to serialise LVM LV mirror re-syncs where a single VG is resyncing several LVs simultaneously - so I/O is focused on a single LV at a time rather than scattered across all resyncing LVs? [13:26] TJ-: What would be the benefit of that? [13:31] OpenTokix: increasing the I/O throughout so the disks spend less time seeking and more time reading/writing === Lcawte|Away is now known as Lcawte [13:32] TJ-: you assume each LV is a sequenial block? [13:32] TJ-: that is a wrong assumption [13:39] OpenTokix: I *know* which extents on which physical devices are assigned so I *know* they are sequential. Anyhow, it improved I/O thoughput from 28MB/s to 100MB/s [13:41] I had to invert my thinking - instead of trying to serialise all the resyncing LVs it just required de-activating all but one resyncing LV ("lvchange -an VG/LV) [13:53] Does anyone know either where to ask or what the answer is for: What is the max HDD size the Dell PowerEdge 2950 supports and the max total size supported? [13:54] hallyn, do you think it would be feasible to have an alternative for libtool-bin for the qemu package to make backporting to trusty a bit easier? wily qemu needs a delta right now [14:00] jamespage: you mean in qemu's debian/control have a different pkg than libtool-bin in build-deps, on trusty only? [14:02] if so what would you want in its place? [14:04] hallyn, not quite sure - trying to figure that out [14:04] hallyn, it would be a libtool-bin | xxx type thing [14:06] the delta right now what exactly? [14:06] I know its a delta - I've just not fixed it yet :-) [14:07] i misse da word - the delta right now *is* what exactly? [14:07] oh you mean you dont' have one yet, got it [14:07] Fenikkusu: Wouldn't you be better off asking Dell? [14:07] i see, libtool-bin doesn't exist at all :) [14:08] jamespage: anyway, debian/control is built by debian/rules, so we can actually process it if you like [14:08] (from debian/contorl-in) [14:08] jpds, I would be glad too if I could find a channel to do so in. [14:10] jdstrand: do you have any objection to doing what is in the last comment at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1342083 ? === DenBeiren is now known as zz_DenBeiren === setkeh is now known as Eliza === Eliza is now known as ProjectEliza === ProjectEliza is now known as setkeh [14:42] hallyn: the owner @{PROC}/[0-9]*/fd/* r, rule breaks vm isolation and will cms to read fds from other vms [14:43] s/cms/allow vms/ [14:43] hallyn: based on the denial, it seems that 'owner @{PROC}/[0-9]*/fd/ r,' is what is actually needed, not 'owner @{PROC}/[0-9]*/fd/* r,' [14:44] hallyn: '@{PROC}/[0-9]*/fd/ r,' would be ok [14:46] so i wonder whether '@{PROC}/self/fd/ ' would suffice [14:48] hallyn: I somewhat wonder if only pt_chown would suffice [14:49] hallyn: reason being, the fd/* rule shouldn't have helped anything, and if the user added pt_chown maybe the fd rule isn't needed at all [14:49] but the ordering of the denials suggests it is needed [14:52] zul: i gather yo'uve not had time to track down the failures in libvirt 1.2.16 ? [14:52] hallyn, not yet...tomorrow hopefully [14:52] ok [14:52] jdstrand: thanks [14:53] (asked the submitter to verify whether htat suffices) [14:53] zul: if you do get it fixed an dif we hear back about it, it might be worth adding the fix for bug 1342083 to 1.2.16-0ubuntu1 as well [14:54] ack [15:09] if i mount a windows share: sudo mount -t cifs //132.1.5.240/Sistemas /mnt/share/svr242/ -o username=administrador,password=Jmasc3186 how to unmount? [15:17] Does anyone have any suggestions on a good computer to use as a home server? Rack mount if possible, so I can get it under a desk or something? [15:20] Fenikkusu: without use case we can't give any suggestions [15:20] like what would go on that [15:22] teward, I'm trying to build a home NAS/Media Server. Right now I have a HP Compaq 6005 USDT that works fine, but only has one SATA port on it, so it will be tricky to update in the future. I'm just looking for a computer that I can fit under a desk and/or couch (I can deal easily enough with air flow) that doesn't suck up power and doesn't sound like a jet all the time. [15:24] most rackmounts with stock fans sound like a jet [15:25] ^ [15:26] Fenikkusu: just buy a NAS-box [15:28] Fenikkusu: Or build a desktop with server hardware. === SL89 is now known as Vodka_Gobalsky [15:50] lordievader, I don't think the overall hardware matters. I tried this and it worked (or so it seemed). Because now, even with all AUTOSTART lines commented, the vpn connects on boot. [22:42] rtorrent is tolerable via shell [22:43] rtorrent++ [22:43] there's also transmission-cli, which iirc contains a web interface as well as the cli [22:43] that is compareable to opentracker? [22:43] I [22:43] I'm no torrent expert, I might not know quite wha tyou're looking for :) [22:45] I'm not either. I was asked to step in to a volunteer torrent project today to help distribute some open source software, and we need torrent trackers set up to handle the effort. [22:50] danofsatx: aha, then rtorrent is not going to be what you need. it might be part of it.. or might not. [22:50] danofsatx: hmm, I'm having trouble getting to their websites.. take a look at suse's mirrorbrain, it might be useful, I remember thinking it looked neat when i read about it a few months ago [22:50] yeah, it's part of it. I knew rtorrent was a torrent client, but I didn't know if it provided a tracker server also [22:53] mirrorbrain appears to be the equivalent of the Fedora Project's MirrorManager - it doesn't do torrents, though. [22:53] hm. Bummer. I thought it did :( === Guest88385 is now known as rylinaux
