jwhitmorebeen reading up on LDAP and struggling to find where to setup access. There's a load of info out there on schema setup but I only want the LDAP server to be local to 127.0.0.1 and use it for Bugzillia access and a web app. Is that set using RTC or in a config file?12:45
maxbIt sounds like you're talking about what socket address to listen on, not anything to do with access control12:49
maxbYou probably want to look at the -h option in the slapd manpage, and the SLAPD_SERVICES setting in /etc/default/slapd12:50
jwhitmoreSo that configuration option lives in the file /etc/ldap/ldap.conf and not a part of RTC12:58
jwhitmoregot it URI in /etc/ldap/ldap.conf13:03
jwhitmorewell I think13:03
jwhitmorenope that didn't restrict it13:05

jwhitmoreMan this is a pain. How hard can it be to restrict LDAP to the local machine.13:09

octocppAnyone been able to suspend to ram on a poweredge 2950 server or equiv?17:55
bekksoctocpp: What do we need to do to win a price in your poll? :)17:55
octocppi can systemctl suspend, but the fans still keep running.17:56
octocppbekks: my poll?17:56
bekksoctocpp: "Anyone..." is the introdcution of a poll ;)17:59
bekksoctocpp: So which Ubuntu do you run?17:59
octocppahh, I see what you mean now.18:00
octocpp1418:00
octocpp14.1 actually18:03
bekksDo you mean 14.10?18:03
octocppops yea, I like to truncatelol18:03
octocppits not really a systemd question though18:04
octocppjust wondering if a poweredge server is capable of suspend18:04
bekksYes, they are.18:04
octocppor does the board managment controler keep all of the fans going and stuff?18:04
bekksI dont see a reason for suspending a server, but technically, they are.18:04
octocppit is here at home18:05
octocpprather than waiting for it to run through the huge post, it would be nice to just wol, boomshakalaka18:05
octocppi wonder if it did an s1 rather  than an s3?18:06
octocppmy samba shares  cut off, so i think it sort of suspended18:06
octocppbut fans continued like normal18:06
octocppI didnt see anyting in the bios pertaning to suspend either. Is there usually? perhaps i missed it ?18:07

devil_what could be a reason, why fail2ban.log would not pick up entries from auth.log and others? it only has the usual INFO stuff about the jails. this is 14.04.219:20
