ChinnoDogSo yesterday I tried to eliminate screen tearing on netflix on my laptop. I discovered by running xrandr that the resolutions with my native aspect ratio (16:9) don't have vsync. I tried to add new modelines with vsync enabled but they don't work. Attempting to switch to the new modes causes the screen to flash but they are ignored. Anyone have any experience making this work correctly?14:24

WorkingTurkeyit's intel hd300015:20
ChinnoDogI believe it will. There are other causes of tearing but vsync is the primary cause.15:21
WorkingTurkeyi'd love a solution for it15:21
ChinnoDogrun 'xrandr --verbose' and see which modes have +VSync15:23
ChinnoDogYou may also have to enable vsync in your video driver settings. I haven't gotten that far yet.15:33
