=== rmg511 is now known as rmg51 [09:23] Morning [12:08] Morning peoples, critters and everything else [14:24] So yesterday I tried to eliminate screen tearing on netflix on my laptop. I discovered by running xrandr that the resolutions with my native aspect ratio (16:9) don't have vsync. I tried to add new modelines with vsync enabled but they don't work. Attempting to switch to the new modes causes the screen to flash but they are ignored. Anyone have any experience making this work correctly? [15:05] nope [15:19] ChinnoDog: does vsync solve the problem? [15:19] my x220 has had this problem for EVER [15:20] on everything [15:20] i don't know why vsync is not working by default [15:20] it's intel hd3000 [15:21] I believe it will. There are other causes of tearing but vsync is the primary cause. [15:21] i'd love a solution for it [15:23] run 'xrandr --verbose' and see which modes have +VSync [15:33] You may also have to enable vsync in your video driver settings. I haven't gotten that far yet.
