knobAny idea how to fix it?12:53

LovichWould it be worth switching to xubuntu for someone who is running ubuntu with xfce desktop?14:11

LovichThat was my thinking as well14:12
GridCubeyou would get support on this channel P:14:13
LovichHeheheh14:13
GridCubeand default theming and stuff like that that is pretty cool14:13

pigeon-yes, u are rite, thee is in fact   'open'  in media,  to open the movie14:42
GridCubeyeah, but inst there like "media > open disk" or something like that14:42

JesuwopeIf I download an .apt file (such as with current versions of adobe flash), how would I go about installing that in Xubuntu?  Do I type sudo apt install filename, sudo install filename, or what22:41
knomehave you tried installin the adobe flash player from the software repositories?22:41
JesuwopeI don't know where they are22:41
JesuwopeI just installed Xubuntu yesterday22:41
knomeopen ubuntu software center from the menu22:42
drcJesuwope: "that graphical Xubuntu software install app" knows where to find them.22:42
knomeJesuwope, http://docs.xubuntu.org/1504/C/managing-applications.html22:42
Jesuwopeok22:42
JesuwopeI must say... I have used many distros over the years but I like Ubuntu the best22:44
JesuwopeIt is really elite22:44
JesuwopeIn addition... I was having a lot of trouble with this acer aspire computer in CentOS and Fedora, it wasn't working with my networking card22:44
JesuwopeI think it's the XFCE that works22:45
JesuwopeI had tried Manjaro22:45
knomexfce doesn't make hardware work or break, but i'm glad to hear xubuntu works for you22:45
JesuwopeIt worked with my internet chipset but it had strange problems and it kept losing boot ability and would say "could not find login/splash screen"... was no good22:45
Jesuwopewell I don't know if it was gnome or not22:45
Jesuwopethat was doing it22:45
Jesuwopebecause there were alot of windowing problems too22:46
Jesuwopewith gnome and connecting22:46
Jesuwopeif it ISN'T the XFCE, then kudos again to Xubuntu22:46
Jesuwopethanks for the help22:46
JesuwopeI'm out22:46
Jesuwopehave a nice day22:46
Guido2Hee, I have a problem with my WiFi settings. In one Netwwork the acces paswoord has to be changed from time to time on my laptop. If I open the settings of the network i can change it, but for some reason i can not save the changes. how can i solve this problem?22:50
JesuwopeI am having trouble with my power management settings.  I set all the variables to "Never", so that the screen won't blank and so that there wouldn't be any sleep or hibernate unless I close the computer lid and yet it still acts the same.  Can anyone help me to know why?23:59
