Riddellsgclark: voila http://qa.kubuntu.co.uk/ppa-status/frameworks/build_status_5.12.0_wily.html00:31
Riddellbuild-status-conf/frameworks.conf is now part of the kubuntu-automation bzr repository so I just reverted to the version in bzr and on my local computer updated to 5.12, commited and the bzr update on the server00:31
sgclarkoh we dont do on the server anymore?00:32
sgclarkRiddell: ^00:32
sgclarkand thank you00:32
Riddellsgclark: I switched to put the config in bzr, I think that's nicer00:33
sgclarkokies00:33
sgclarkthough I did not realize I am leaving for akademy next week and have stuff to take care of before I leave, I will finish frameworks though.00:35
Riddellthanks sgclark, but as ever don't stress yourself to death!00:37

sick_rimmitsitter: my rick-timmis@kubuntu.org email address does not appear to forward to my registered email address on launchpad, would you be the correct person to ask about this ? 08:29
Riddellsick_rimmit: #launchpad or #canonical-sysadmin08:32
sittersick_rimmit: make sure your primary email address on launchpad is not set to your kubuntu address08:33
sitteryour kubuntu address is set up as a forwarding address to your primary launchpad address, so if you have the kubuntu address as primary it will forward to itself08:33
=== drawkward_away is now known as drawkward
zxsinclairsitter: I think this basically means Knemo is "abandonware". There are replacements so am not crying hard but I like it09:58
sitterzxsinclair: you could try reporting a bug and see if someone responds :P09:59
zxsinclairsitter: true that. But am still keeping 15.x in Vbox. Actually on 15.10 alpha. For everyday use on 14.1010:00

santa_Riddell: ↑ this package was uploaded to unstable recently so I guess you will want to do something about it12:48
santa_a possible course of action would be: 1. sync that package with debian, 2. rebuild the packages mentioned in the changelog against the new musicbrainz in ubuntu12:49
Riddellthanks santa_, I guess I'll talk to doko12:49
santa_for libkcddb you will need patch, it's available in debian's git master12:50

sitternope, upstream should release a hotfix is what should happen13:13
santa_but in the meantime I had to apply the patch to make it buildable and installable again http://imagebin.ca/v/28bZVFBoBdwW13:16

yofelwe all do, esp. for PPA's. So it is a good idea really20:59
sgclarklibkf5coreaddons-dev (>= 5.12.0~),20:59
yofelwhy would that fail?21:00
sgclarkthe merges did21:00
sgclarkyour asking the wrong person, all I know is I had to manually merge all of kf521:00

yofel*SIGH*21:01
sgclarksigh?21:02
yofelcan we drop all that CI merging... it's causing more work than it helps :(21:02
sgclarkI am sure it is an easy fix... I will look when I have time21:02
Riddellmerging from debian definately seems to be more faff that it's worth, at least more than once a cycle21:03
Riddellyay plasma-nm got into wily!21:04
TJ-I can donate a few cycles to packaging although its not my primary objective, if it'll help21:05
RiddellTJ-: we'd always love more packagers21:06
Riddellalthough many of the problems come from tools not being quite as reliable as they ought to be21:06
Riddellsgclark: will you upload those to the PPA?21:06
TJ-I'm sure; that's why I'm being careful not to get drawn into it too far!21:06
TJ-Does the kubuntu packaging follow the ubuntu development process, using bzr, or is it on a per-package/per-dev-preference basis?21:07
clivejomurthy: did you get kdeconnect packaged?21:08
RiddellTJ-: the big kde releases, frameworks, plasma and applications we package in branches debian's git21:09
TJ-Mmmm git :)21:09
RiddellTJ-: we have a nifty CI to package it every day http://kci.pangea.pub/21:09
RiddellTJ-: and then we have less nifty scripts to package the tars when they get made21:09
TJ-Riddell: to save you typing... is the process documented someplace? I'm not having much luck finding anything about the CI-train merge process right now21:10
RiddellTJ-: no not really21:10
Riddellci-train is ubuntu's system I think21:11
Riddellwe use kci21:11
yofelthe CI workflow is documented on some kde wiki page, I forgot the URL though21:11
TJ-Riddell: So if I recall correctly, most of the main packages come directly from a Debian merge and rarely carry {k,u}ubuntu specific debian/patch/ additions?21:11
yofelTJ-: not that rarely, but mostly yes. And we're usually ahead of debian in the versions21:12
TJ-yofel: My search-fu failed on finding it, or else on spotting current practice :)21:12
Riddellpackaging is here (mostly) http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-kde/21:12
Riddellsome packages are still in bzr like calligra and digikam and others21:12
TJ-yofel: Is the preference to patch in Debian?21:12
Riddelland some aren't in version control at all21:12
Riddellpreference is to patch in KDE21:12
TJ-Riddell: Those will be tarball + quilt?21:13
TJ-Riddell: OK, so upstream preferred for cross-distro stuff; how about for Debianised patches, preference Debian, and then I assume Kubuntu for flavour-specific stuff like branding/language ?21:14
yofelah, found it: https://community.kde.org/Kubuntu/CI#Merges21:14
murthyclivejo: ya21:15
murthyclivejo: going to install21:15
TJ-yofel: Thanks :)21:15

clivejoIve installed mine, doesnt fix the file transfer from Android to Kubuntu corrupting the file :)21:15
murthyclivejo: did you restart after installing ?21:16
sgclarkRiddell: yeah I have to git-buildpackage-ppa by hand, will try to finish here in a few. Wily at least.21:16

yofelRiddell: what's the intended purpose of staging-upload?21:17
murthyclivejo: let me see21:17
TJ-Riddell: Maybe I used thw wrong word... not branding, but for example references to Kubuntu rather than Debian in strings/docs and maybe some tools?21:17
sgclarkstaging upload?21:17

RiddellTJ-: again there shouldn't be many of those, we have the kubuntu-docs packages for docs and kubuntu-settings package for settings21:24
TJ-Riddell: OK, that makes things easier especially for translations :)21:25
yofelsgclark: well, you need the past changes from git or the hooks to get sane packages out at the end, so either you do the merges or you just run a script that just pulls the existing packages and uploads them to a different release (which is what the old one does)21:27
yofelRiddell: what's the intended purpose of staging-upload?21:28
murthyclivejo: I just tested with kdeconnect 0.8b the issue is not fixed. I think I saw a commit, a possible fix for this issue 0.8b tag. Let me check that21:28
