[03:55] hid*hide [03:56] bq_: you can set it to autohide by clicking panel settings and click minimize when not in use === LarrySteeze is now known as LarrySteeze|Away [05:29] is there any difference between the two ISOs available other than the way of installing lubuntu in the desktop version and the alternate version? [05:31] In theory, only the installer should differ yes. [05:31] can upgrade lubuntu using the desktop version of ISO? [05:31] Unit193, [05:32] There is an option for it, never used it personally. [05:32] i don't see any cdromupgrade file in desktop ISO like in alternate version [05:35] Unit193, seems i can't upgrade using the alternate ISO https://askubuntu.com/questions/6175/what-is-the-difference-between-the-alternative-and-desktop-cd-images [05:36] Should just be a pool, last I knew. [05:37] Unit193, sry! I didn't get you [05:56] Unit193, sry! i didn't get you about the pool you mentioned. (if you wrote anything after that, sry! my IRC client ended abruptly I'm unable to check the previous logs.) [06:05] Unit193, when i tried to restart the PC with lubuntu 14.10 installed and with lubuntu desktop 15.04 cd in the drive I choose to upgrade, in the installer wizard last step it asks for a username, password, etc. Why do i need to provide that since I already have a username in the installed old lubuntu. I'm simply trying to upgrade. [07:54] how to force power meter on lubuntu always show on tray icon? [10:20] Unit193, i upgraded Lubuntu 14.10 -> 15.04 using bootable Lubuntu Desktop ISO in a VM. Forgot to make a snapshot. All my settings alongs with the softwares that I'd installed are gone. Only the document files in the user directory are left. :( === LarrySteeze|Away is now known as LarrySteeze === LarrySteeze is now known as LarrySteeze|Away === LarrySteeze|Away is now known as LarrySteeze === LarrySteeze is now known as LarrySteeze|Away [18:27] hi [18:52] hi panthere any way I can help? [20:35] Greetings! I just installed Disk Usage Analyzer via the Lubuntu Software Center. How do I launch it? [20:36] It does not appear in the standard Application Launcher (either under Accessories or System Tools) [20:42] Baobab? [20:49] Tried running "baobab" from command line but is says it's not currently installed. need to try "sudo apt-get install baobab". Will give that a go [20:49] hard to say which program you installed from the software center [20:50] but you can just use: df -h [20:50] to see what's your disk usage [20:52] within Lubuntu Software Center, it just says "Disk Usage Analyzer" under Installed software (version 1.8.2+dfsg1-1) [20:52] I actually prefer ncdu for this but that is ncurses based [20:52] spython01: have you installed other stuff recently [20:53] will try "df -h" or "sudo fdisk -l" but was looking for something more graphical in nature [20:53] if not the end of /var/log/dpkg.log may tell you the package name [20:53] @ianorlin: Yes, things like Thunderbird [20:53] ah [20:54] looks like "baobab" got something to run [20:54] not quite the same as the Disk Usage Analyzer I've seen in Ubuntu, but perhaps this may work as well [20:55] ianorlin, ncurses <3 ;) [20:57] I ran "tail /var/log/dpkg.log" but it didn't really indicate an installation directory or path [20:58] I'll fool around with baobab for now to see how that goes. I'm just a Linux newbie messing around so it's fun just trying to figure out how all this works! === IdleOne is now known as Guest92299 === Guest92299 is now known as IdleOne
