AzelphurHaha nice, just bought a refurbished printer and it came with a stack of 50 Ubuntu print test pages in the tray.14:43
Azelphurspose that means I won't have any problems getting this thing working :)14:44
awilkinsLogical choice really, using Ubuntu to test refurbs14:56
foobarrylubotu3: test14:57
lubotu3Testing... Testing... 1. 2.. 3... ( by the way, remember that you can use /join #test )14:57
awilkinsGetting the drivers for Windows is fraught with multi-100-MB downloads and bloatware14:57
foobarrylubotu3: bug 12314:57
lubotu3bug 123 in Launchpad itself "There's no direct way to see the project info when translating it" [Medium,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/12314:57
Azelphurspeaking of said printer, it came with toner cartridges ... and uhh https://owncloud.azelphur.com/owncloud/index.php/s/kJ9yXjVS8FBL36p and https://owncloud.azelphur.com/owncloud/index.php/s/tUrfMZyYw61gpKQ15:13
Azelphur...return / ask for new toner cartridge time?15:13
popeydid they waste it printing test sheets? :)15:15
Azelphurpopey: probably since it is supposed to come with "part used consumables" (it's a refurb from a company)15:16
AzelphurI really don't know much about printers so I'm not sure whether this is normal and I should clean them and put them in, or what15:17
popeyjust chuck them in :)15:17
popeythey're clealy taken out part used15:17
Azelphurreally? even with ink all over them?15:18
AzelphurI didn't think they were meant to leak like that15:18
AzelphurIt even has a big-ass warning sign saying "Don't touch the rollers" and the roller has dust all over it15:22
* Azelphur prods popey15:23
popeyhm?15:25
popeyI'd be inclined to take it outside and blow it :)15:26
Azelphurcalled them, they said send photos and they'll replace them, I guess that works :)15:28
popeyheh15:30
Azelphurmaybe I'll get some new cartridges outta it :)15:32
awilkinsI ruined my printer trying to fix it's toner feed issues15:44
awilkinsWell, scratched up the imaging drum15:45
awilkinsReplacing it was more expensive than a shiny new printer15:45
awilkinsEven if it was a networked colour laser!15:45
Azelphuryea mine is a networked colour laser15:49
Azelphurgot a good deal, only £50 refurb15:49
Myrtti_I still ♥ our Samsung SCX-4500W, or The Sentinel as we lovingly call it16:23
