oleg | Help! rm -r * fails to delete directories when using overlayfs in a user-namespace. strace shows an EPERM in unlinkat. OS details: ubuntu-14.04 with the linux-generic-lts-vivid kernel (or any 3.18+ kernel). The problem does not occur with the default 3.13 kernel.
