amjjawaddarkxst,00:03
amjjawadhow are you darkxst? all is good, I'll mark the builds are ready unless you have a very good reason not to :D00:03
flexiondotorgamjjawad, I can't reproduce that ubi-timezone bug that I see all over the QA tracker.00:26
flexiondotorgIs there something special I need to do?00:27
amjjawadflexiondotorg, just click on "continue anyway" and that's all .. this is how I managed to finish the installation00:27
amjjawadas of how to fix it? I have no idea how to fix it :(00:27
flexiondotorgamjjawad, I mean I've never seen it.00:27
amjjawadflexiondotorg, oh, really?00:28
flexiondotorgI've tried install in different languages, choosing different time zones, connected/disconnect network, install update off/on.00:28
flexiondotorgI can't make it happen.00:28
amjjawadflexiondotorg, but for me, it happened 'before' choosing the time zone00:28
flexiondotorgBut I have seen it during 15.04, so I know the error you're referring to.00:29
amjjawadfor me, it happens right after the installation method00:29
flexiondotorgSo do you boot without interupting and get the Try vs Install dialogue?00:29
flexiondotorgHow goes the Ubuntu GNOME testing?00:31
amjjawadflexiondotorg, my testing was great except that bug we're talking about00:33
amjjawad8 tests, all good00:33
amjjawadI see that bug right after the installation method (something else, entire disk, etc) and before entering the details of the name, etc00:33
darkxstamjjawad, still sick here01:11
darkxstsure go ahead and mark them ready, no critical issues that I know off01:13
amjjawaddarkxst, so sorry to hear that :(01:13
amjjawadwhat is wrong, if I may ask darkxst ? flu?01:13
darkxstyeh cold/flu thing again01:14
amjjawaddarkxst, :( sorry about that. Try Manoka honey with Cinnamon or with ginger and lemon01:14
amjjawadwork like a charm in my case01:14
darkxstthe timezone thing is likely due to missing map images for the new north korea timezone01:15
amjjawadyou mean the bug that we've seen?01:16
darkxstyeh the ubi-timezone01:16
amjjawadbut luckily, we can live with it. I mean, it is not critical01:19
amjjawad-queuebot/#ubuntu-release- Builds: Ubuntu GNOME Desktop amd64 [Wily Beta 1] has been marked as ready01:20
amjjawad-queuebot/#ubuntu-release- Builds: Ubuntu GNOME Desktop i386 [Wily Beta 1] has been marked as ready01:20
darkxstand it is stupid that we have atleast 3 different implementations of that timezone map code01:22
amjjawadwhy 3?01:23
amjjawadthere should be one working better than 301:23
darkxstone in the install, one in gnome-control-center, and one in libtimezonemap (which is used by unity I think)01:23
amjjawadany idea which one of these is causing the issue? the install one?01:25
darkxstamjjawad, yes the installer - ubiquity01:30
amjjawadI see01:30
amjjawadbut luckily, it is not critical and flexiondotorg could not re-produce it01:31
darkxstyeh01:38
flexiondotorgdarkxst, amjjawad Are your wiki notes in order?10:02
darkxstflexiondotorg, NO idea that is not my job! ali?10:13
darkxstI did add a few comments in there at one point though10:14
darkxstI won't go into details since they are far from nice, but lets just say today was the first day I got anything done since monday10:17
amjjawadflexiondotorg, darkxst sorry, was away11:49
amjjawadthe notes are ready since this morning :)11:49
amjjawadmy time11:50

amjjawadhttps://wiki.ubuntu.com/WilyWerewolf/Beta111:50
flexiondotorgamjjawad, Excellent. Looks like everyone is all set :-)11:50
amjjawadflexiondotorg, Ubuntu GNOME is ready ;)11:51
flexiondotorgamjjawad, Great. I've had confirmation from everyone :-)11:51
amjjawadflexiondotorg, you did a great job :D11:52
flexiondotorgamjjawad, Thanks.12:09
amjjawadflexiondotorg, you're welcome :)12:10
amjjawadany idea when Beta 1 will be released? flexiondotorg12:10
flexiondotorgSomewhere around 16:00 to 17:00 UTC12:11
amjjawadAh, then I'll be sleeping at that time12:11
amjjawadno worries, I usually wake up early in my time :)12:11
amjjawadit is 22:10 here12:12
amjjawadflexiondotorg, me and darkxst are both in Australia and maybe we should call it Ubuntu AUS GNOME :P12:12
flexiondotorgOh boy. Late night for you guys then.12:12
amjjawadI am ready, just need to click on "Publish" so the website post will be live and then share that on the social media + the mailing list12:13
amjjawadflexiondotorg, yep, I am getting ready to bed in 60mins or so12:13
amjjawadI'll keep an eye on my inbox, just in case I'm around when it's out12:14
skeletonI'm back with a more interesting problem this time: I'm running cinnamon. It crashes (says something about fallback mode, if I click yes on restart it just pops up again after a but) during startup. Before I removed gnome (which fixed nothing), the gnome toolbar would appear. If I kill lightdm, it restarts and works fine. It feels like something fr14:53
skeletonom gnome starts during startup and blocks cinnamon from starting.14:53
uaaHi, I've high cpu usage. I've found random information about issues with graphic card drivers but I've never seen any problem with gnome till now. Could you suggest something to figure out what is going out?16:54
uaa*going on16:55
uaaGNOME Shell 3.14.417:23
uaaI solved it by killing it in terminal then running it by gnome-shell command but if I do freeze the shell by ctrl+z then every thing freezes. So I've to keep that terminal open and If I close or freeze it it disable my keyboard17:28
mgedminnext time try alt-f2 r17:34
uaaor gnome-shell & maybe17:35
mgedmingnome-shell & disown, in that case17:36
mgedminor it might get killed when you close the terminal17:36
mgedminbtw when everything freezes after ctrl-z, I'd expect it to be just output17:36
mgedminI'd expect if you blindly type 'bg' <enter> things to unfreeze17:37
mgedminbut anyway, alt-f2 r tells gnome-shell to restart17:37
mgedminin the right environment etc.17:37
mgedmina terminal complicates things17:37
uaano, they keyboard does not send anything to the terminal. I had to copy the command from this chat to by middle mouse button17:38
uaa*to the terminal17:38
mgedminooh, if it loses keyboard focus, tough17:39
uaaHi, I've high cpu usage. I've found random information about issues with graphic card drivers but I've never seen any problem with gnome till now. Could you suggest something to figure out what is going out? GNOME Shell 3.14.421:17
