[08:36] just a quick note, as I can't get onto the iso tracker at the moment (site seems to be down). I tried doing an update from 15.04 to 15.10 as per the upgrade testing instructions on the tracker, and all seemed to go well initially. It the usual things like diasabling certain PPA'setc.. It quite happily downloaded all the file and started to install them. Towards the end, i got an error appear 3 tome which i submitted about the upgrade couldn't find [08:36] modemmanager. This eventually locked up my system until it unresponsive, even a REISUB didn't work and i had to power it off. upon restarting the machine my system was totally borked.. I'm using a Lenovo E530 i5 Laptop with SSD.. i'll get this reported once the tracker sites back up [08:37] reported that to #canonical-sysadmin [08:38] NXDOMAIN?! [08:38] bbl -> [09:07] isotracker site seems to be back up now, recorded the failed test and bug.. [10:38] thanks akxwi-dave [11:37] good to hear it's back [11:38] knome or iso tracker :p [11:39] knome, morning [11:39] can you please tell me what's the default size for the apps images in the default_apps slide? [11:40] 64x64? [11:47] flocculant, i don't often call myself "it"... [11:47] slickymasterWork, 16x16... [11:47] slickymasterWork, you're so bad at estimating sizes [11:47] knome: ha ha [11:48] that's because I'm myopic :P [11:48] but thanks [11:52] knome, I'll have a installer slicdeshow MP for you to review this evening [11:52] * slideshow [11:53] ok [13:11] knome, didnt change your mind yet by any chance? ;D [13:24] nope. [13:34] meh, i dont wanna advertise my study in #xubuntu yet because if several people reply i wanna enroll them all, and i need 2-3 weeks to pilot before i enroll real participants [13:35] anyone here in the EU and who wants to earn some money? :p [13:35] doing almost nothing? :p [13:36] disclaimer: sidi will track your pc [13:36] :P [13:38] but, but :p (yeah, that's true) [13:38] it's for research though. and it's approved by my uni's research ethics committee [14:45] knome: about? [14:51] knome: if you have some time next week, we should chat about the static.x.o diff from what we have in bzr, my main concern is the lack of http://static.xubuntu.org/xubuntu-branding/ since I know we (and others) have linked to things in there before, so I don't want to just delete it [14:52] right [14:52] knome: should also see about adding the news/ directory that's on the filesystem [14:52] well, then maybe just link [14:52] i've made sure no links point to the dir from the website though [14:52] I thought about doing symlinks to each file, but I don't know what file maps to which [14:52] i'll figure that out [14:53] and we'd have to do file-by-file symlinks, since that's what we link to [14:53] sure [14:53] ok, if you give me the list, I can set up the symlinks :) [14:53] another options is permanent apache redirections [14:53] -s [14:53] that requires an IS ticket and for them to not break it [14:53] which is, lol [14:53] :D [14:54] symlinks are easy to migrate, they regularly forget to migrate things like apache rules and permissions [14:54] heh [14:54] ok ok [14:55] should also see to serve the flyer from static.x.o [14:55] yeah [14:55] instead of attached files [14:55] I saw that change, is good [14:55] well it's not done yet [14:55] I mean, in bzr :) [14:55] heh [14:55] yeah [14:56] * pleia2 looks at docs now [14:56] mhm [14:56] just docs-startpage that changed, yeah? [14:56] yew [14:56] ERMMM [14:56] yes [14:56] no 15.10 docs ready yet [14:57] that reminds me i need to update the startpage css too when adding 15.10 [14:57] ok, utopic is all done [14:57] s/done/gone [14:58] yep [14:58] good [14:58] (well, still on the server, just not linked) [14:58] :) [14:58] how do we want to promote the flyers? [14:58] blog article and social media? [14:58] yeah [14:59] or just social media? [14:59] blog post is needed, since we need to link all the sources and maybe instructions for printing [14:59] mhm [14:59] the printing should be straightforward really [14:59] folks on G+ were excited to get links to the source [14:59] link? [15:00] i really hope they don't start doing weirdo spinoffs of them in gdocs or whatever right away [15:00] the other question is - what about translations [15:00] https://plus.google.com/+xubuntu/posts/cT9SSsM3gTF [15:00] thanks [15:01] ok, time to head out, bbl [15:01] thanks knome [15:02] np [15:02] have fun! [15:03] pleia2, totally no need to answer, just throwing this here so i don't forget myself: we should probably tell people who are willing to translate the flyer to talk to us/me so we can make sure the formatting doesn't get broken [15:03] pleia2, also, meh, maybe we should look at scribus stuff for later, since that kind of makes it harder for people to mess up... [15:03] (easier now as the design is pretty much done) [15:03] bbl as well -> [18:55] helo [18:55] helo [19:04] hello [19:09] evening [19:13] hi knome [19:19] hey flosser [19:19] ;P [19:19] LOL [19:19] wait, was that not your nick? [19:19] i apologise. [19:19] not. [19:20] heh === sinewav1 is now known as sinewav [20:43] LP: #1492353, LP: #1492355 [20:43] Launchpad bug 1492353 in menulibre (Ubuntu) "menulibre FTBFS with Python 3.5 in Wily" [High,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1492353 [20:43] Launchpad bug 1492355 in mugshot (Ubuntu) "mugshot FTBFS with Python 3.5 in Wily" [High,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1492355 [21:11] slickymaster, have you got any replies for the slideshow translations thread? [21:12] nothing yet [21:12] ouch, the contrast with the bg [21:13] just the ones from the bouncers stating that the email was being held until the list moderator can review it for approval [21:13] from all [21:13] yeah, knew you' scream when you'd see the images [21:14] s/you'/you'd [21:14] i also think we're using new icons for those in wily [21:15] i'll update them while i'm at it [21:15] I didn't manage to find those [21:15] no worries [21:16] much better contrast-wise as well [21:16] * slickymaster has no doubts [21:19] slickymaster, did you want to cover the panel switcher? [21:21] initially, yes. But then flocculant convinced me not to, due to the fact that it's still unstable [21:22] :) [21:22] https://code.launchpad.net/~ubiquity-slideshow/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/html [21:24] ok, thanks [21:24] np [21:27] knome, what about the werewolf? :P [21:29] later [21:30] even i don't pull that kind of stuff out of my hat in 5 minutes [21:30] * slickymaster was convinced that knome had one in the basement [21:30] like flocculant has a troll [21:31] having creature X in the basement doesn't mean i have an svg reproduction of it... [21:32] but i think i have an idea for what i'm going to do [21:32] * Unit193 scratches head. [21:32] lol knome creature X??? [21:32] don't tell me you have a mutant [22:08] Uhh, so I hit the button on the report screen, I see the .uploaded file in /var/crash/, but it never opened a browser window or filed a bug it seems. [22:20] great, how about dynamic bg color setting in the slideshow, no png files any more
