[00:00] * clivejo fingers crossed [00:01] unless I put something somewhere it didnt belong. It wouldnt be the first time! [00:03] people who do not mistake simply do nothing :) [00:04] soee_: do you know when the final version is due? [00:04] clivejo: amarok ? nope. [00:05] soee_: know any other who can test it? [00:05] call testers :) [00:05] there is some command, but i do not remember it :( [07:14] Apparently I'm having issues submitting translations on launchpad. Can someone please assist me? [07:49] Good morning [08:30] probably not Wiley proper, so likely PPA, I don't think we can make it for Wiley final [08:30] do as Debian does: put the beta in Wiley and then get in the final when it's ready [08:31] because the beta is pretty stable, I use it since ages [08:44] ahoneybun: just to let you know Kdenlive 15.08.0 is completly broken and unusable [09:17] hi - for the last 2 days i've not been able to install Kubuntu 15.10 via daily .iso [09:17] ubiquity crashes on startup [09:17] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1495194 [09:17] Launchpad bug 1495194 in ubiquity (Ubuntu) "Kubuntu 15.10 daily (12 +13 sept) unable to install " [Undecided,New] [09:18] is there a workaround [10:51] Hiyas all === badmin is now known as stinn3s === tazz_ is now known as tazz [18:42] ahoneybun: ping [18:58] Just had Konsole hang during a close, backtrace shows its trying to play a sound via gstreamer/pulseaudio, waiting at pa_threaded_mainloop_wait() ... research suggests this issue has/does affect other (Gnome) applications so probably isn't KDE specific. Has anyone else experienced similar? [18:59] TJ-: nope, I would guess it's specific to your sound card and driver [18:59] Interesting; first time I've ever seen it. From what I've read its a race condition in the gstreamer callbacks for PA [19:16] I have a problem with Konsole everytime I close the last window [19:19] I've hit theme issues I can't seem to solve. I switched to "Breeze Dark" under Desktop Theme and Application Colour Scheme. Most standard File-Open dialogs are unusable because they paint white-on-white [19:20] nothing bad happening here when I close a konsole window.. [19:21] I tested it with Amarok a few minutes ago; hit the issue. Quit the program, changed both themes to the standard Breeze, re-ran Amarok and the same thing happens. [19:21] Im currently using Konsole so I cant close it [19:21] but it always happens when I close the last one of the session [19:22] yofel: re the PulseAudio hang; from what I read it is caused by a race condition, and isn't all triggered. It depends on timings of the shell 'bell' sound and the Quit action. [19:22] s/all/always/ [19:22] clivejo: attach to the Konsole process with 'gdb' from another console (or ssh session) and get a backtrace [19:23] I'm also seeing a lot of compositor corruption when the GPU is close to using 100% of its video RAM. [19:26] Something else I was wondering re: themes: Why is it necessary to change both the Desktop Theme and the Application Colour Scheme to get all colours to change? [19:31] Just did a re-log-in to check resource exhaustion isn't causing the File Open Dialog issue. Not sure what package to report that against [19:43] clivejo: did you repacked yesterdayamarok maybe? [19:43] soee_: sorry, dont understand the question [19:44] clivejo: sorry my keyboard doesn't folow me :) I saw some next amarok updates, and was wondering if you put some fresh version maybe in your ppa? [19:44] oh that [19:44] yes [19:45] Riddell pointed out some files that shouldnt be in the package [19:45] ah so it is more cleanup update than any important ? :) [19:45] yup [19:45] ok, cool, thanks for info :) [19:46] need to find out if it will make it into wily or not [19:47] i think it depends if final verson will be released (2.9) [19:47] yeah, do you know when its due? [19:48] nope, some dev should be asked [19:49] was calligra packaged? [19:51] there were some upates today [19:51] 2.9.7 version i have [19:51] Riddell must have done it [19:51] I attempted it and run out of time [19:53] yeah 2.9.7 was the one I tried to package [19:54] yup, so this one was released today [19:56] yup Riddell did it last night [19:57] then someone called Steve Langasek rebuild it this morning [20:37] Riddell: I really need to know my password on the docsnew.kubuntu.co.uk server lol [20:44] if you got that in a PM, ahoneybun, search your irc logs [20:45] mm? [20:45] I did not at all [20:49] ok [20:49] maybe Riddell will check in irc before going to sleep [20:51] yea its not a big thing [20:51] just want to install sphinx on the server and edit things from there [20:52] cool [20:53] rather then installing it everything I have to format this machine or my laptop.... [20:53] valorie: did you see the new domain? [20:53] temp anyway [20:53] yes [20:53] k [21:12] Wily will use Frameworks 5.14.0 ? [21:14] I assume so, since they have been released [21:19] do we have a list of things to be packaged yet [21:20] ? [21:21] Riddell: ^ [21:25] ahoneybun: frameworks and applications both need updates [21:25] feel free to add trello items for those [21:26] clivejo: I did calligra, calligra-l10n still needs doing [21:26] what updates are needed? [21:26] mm I always have issues finding links [21:26] using that script thing? [21:27] ahoneybun: password for sudo? I'll need to reset it [21:27] I have no idea what it is [21:27] clivejo: calligra-l10n needs the new version packaged [21:27] ahoneybun: what do you need it for today? [21:27] Riddell: http://download.kde.org/stable/frameworks/5.14/? [21:27] ahoneybun: yes that needs doing [21:28] oh Linux Kernel 4.3 RC1 is out :) [21:28] Riddell: I want to install sphinx on the server rather then my desktop so it is all synced no matter what device I'm on [21:28] also this trello card: https://trello.com/c/rGFyOEFP/24-add-instructions-for-checking-the-iso-checksum-in-the-new-docs [21:28] Riddell: do we have a notepad for it? [21:29] KF 5.14 [21:29] nope, but the first step is probably to run the kubuntu-automation script staging-upload [21:31] that's above me atm [21:33] is the staging ppa ready for them? [21:34] as ready as it ever is :) [21:35] if I try it, wil you be about to clean up if the brown stuff hits the fan? [21:35] XD [21:40] clivejo: go ahead [21:40] lp:~kubuntu-packagers/+junk/kubuntu-automation ? [21:40] clivejo: yep [21:40] clivejo: warning, the scripts are buggy and the README is incomplete and out of date, fixes welcome [21:40] need to set this up locally [21:41] clivejo: Mamarok is the person you need to ask about Amarok release [21:41] Riddell: yup Ive a to-do setup to ask him/her tomorrow [21:42] I am here, clivejo :) [21:42] you could ask her now [21:42] Mamarok: hiding ?!? :P [21:42] not at all, I only just came home tonight [21:42] Im joking with you :) [21:43] I know :) [21:43] you wouldnt be the first to hide from me [21:43] have you an ETA when the final release will be? [21:43] * Mamarok wonders if there is reason to hide... [21:43] and if it will make it into wily or have to go into backports? [21:44] no, no ETA at the moment, so should go to the PPA I think [21:44] unless a miracle happens and somebody fixes those weird bugs [21:44] its in my PPA [21:45] soee_ has been testing and Ive been using it today [21:45] well, I use it since ages, but that endless loop with CDs is really annoying [21:45] to be honest never really used it before, and I will be in future [21:46] mind you,one doesn't have to use CDs with Amarok, better rip those with k3b and add tracks to collection :) [21:47] clivejo: copy it over to kubuntu-ppa/backports [21:48] Riddell: I dunno how to copy :/ [21:48] I dont think I have permission to do that [21:48] clivejo: go to your PPA, click the copy link, fill in form [21:48] you should have permissions for it [21:49] * Riddell snoozes [21:50] is it apps of frameworks? [21:50] or [21:51] apps [21:51] certainly not frameworks [21:52] oh I thought he said both needed doing [21:52] it can't be frameworks as it is still a KDE4 aspp [21:52] Mamarok: sorry, crossed wires [21:53] doing two things at the same time here [21:53] ok [21:54] regarding copying do I rebuild or copy existing? [21:55] pokes Riddell [21:57] Ive selected rebuild [22:16] ahoneybun: is there new frameworks and apps released? [22:16] frameworks 5.14 [22:16] http://download.kde.org/stable/frameworks/5.14/ [22:17] I'm guessing none have been done yet [22:17] grrr [22:18] Permission denied (publickey). [22:19] something wrong with my ssh to depot.kde.org [22:26] Im gonna have to wait until Riddell or yofel are around [22:27] doing this locally is different to doing it on EC
