mamarleyricotz: Looks like the first nvidia 358.xx beta is out.  I am going to start with packaging nvidia-settings, only because I have no idea what the official procedure for packaging a new major release of the drivers themselves is.  I have done it a few times, but like everything else I was doing it was probably wrong.18:04
ricotzmamarley, nice, there are probably some more delicate changes which needs some packaging adjustments, but I can't look at it today, maybe tomorrow18:23
mamarleyI will do my best and at least get an orig.tar.gz uploaded so you don't have to wait around for that.18:26
ricotzhehe, I can upload it too just take a bit longer ;)18:27
mamarleyricotz: nvidia-settings packages are up: https://launchpad.net/~mamarley/+archive/ubuntu/staging/+packages18:48
mamarleyAnd 358.09 actually packaged cleanly using the debian/ directory from 355.11.  Let me see if it will actually install...18:51
ricotzmamarley, did you read the changelog?18:55
ricotzhttps://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/88472718:56
mamarleyAbout nvidia-modeset?  Yeah, I saw that.  I am going to see if I can get that compiling with dkms next.18:57
mamarleyI am just trying to get it working one step at a time.18:57
ricotzok18:58
mamarleyI have nvidia-modeset compiling with DKMS now too.19:20
mamarleyI may very well have done something wrong, but hopefully this will at least save you a bit of time tomorrow.19:20
mamarleyricotz: So the 358.09 package I uploaded to my staging PPA works, but it is necessary to manually load the nvidia-modeset module before it will work.  I will troubleshoot that, but I need to go do something else at the moment.19:45
