[09:52] morning all [09:56] hi Kilos [09:56] hi theblazehen all good? [09:56] nice to have you back again [09:57] Yeah, I'm good and you Kilos ? [09:57] good too ty [09:57] Just got 6 exams left :) [09:57] nice [09:59] Bit stressed for 2nd math exam.. :/ [10:03] if you know your work there is no need to stress [10:04] Yeah. Thing is, no matter how hard I try, I just can't get euclidean geometry [10:04] find gremble [10:05] he the maths man [10:05] he might be able to explain it in a easier way [10:05] oh he is here [10:05] Think I should be fine. At least this paper includes more of other stuff, so shouldn't be too much of a problem [10:05] grumbles help the lad [10:06] Previous year or 2 was mostly euclidean in paper 2 [10:06] ai! [10:06] i dont even know what that is [10:06] Basically circles and triangles and lines inside circles [10:06] you int pta as well hey [10:06] I hate circles [10:07] Yeah [10:07] haha [10:07] so is gremble [10:07] yeah.Met him at sfd [10:07] oh yes [10:13] Hey Kilos [10:14] Hey theblazehen What don't you get with Euclidean Geometry [10:15] gremble: Like, I know the theorems and stuff, and like I can do stuff individualy with one or two theorems involved. [10:16] Where do you struggle? [10:16] The problem comes in when they add like lots of lines, and you need to use different theorems, and like when they involve multiple circles etc [10:16] I just don't "see" how to get the answer [10:17] Ah alright. Yes, it gets a little difficult to discern the various problems. That is no problem on your understanding though, that is an experience problem [10:17] yeah. Thing is, I practise as much as I can - I often, even after like 30 min can't see the solution sometimes [10:17] I take really long to get experience intuituin, where fundamental reasoning over the problem is practically instantaneous. So different parts have different difficulties [10:18] theblazehen: That is me with Differential Equations :P [10:18] Yeah [10:18] ah, lol [10:18] I passed that by eating and sleeping DE's. People thought I was going crazy because I would not go anywhere without a set of questions to work out [10:19] Waiting on line? Doing problems :P [10:22] Heh, yeah [10:23] I actually got a really great way of concentrating :) Like, idk how to describe it. The kind of concentrating where you don't focus on anything else. Did my physics exam like that, finished in 1:30, most people in like 2:40 [10:23] And could have studied the whole night through the day before if I wanted to, without being tired on the day :) [10:23] Think I'll do that again for the math exam [10:41] I wish I had the ability to concentrate like that [10:42] I've only been able to concentrate properly while using something like ritalin or THC [10:42] Heh, I used meds for that actually [10:42] Well, more _lack_ of meds :) [11:16] good mornings [11:17] hi inetpro. Not so morning anymore :) [11:17] oops [11:19] Hey inetpro [11:19] oh hello gremble as well [11:20] hot in Pretoria again today [11:21] Yeah. Should go up to 31 today [11:22] sadly the minimums are too low for any rains [11:22] Its horrible. I have a fever as well, so I'm not very impressed [11:22] Yeah, 12% chance of precipitation [11:25] is it not a matter of 12% quantity of precipitation? [11:25] or the probability of 12% quantity? [11:25] What is a 100% quantity of percipitation? [11:26] * inetpro get very confused with these forecasts [11:26] never know what it really means [11:26] :P It is a probability of percipitation [11:26] I think 100% is 100% chance of rain [11:27] There are so many variables to take into account to predict rain, that they have to use statistical models [11:27] (most weather is statistical models) [11:27] gremble: Fun fact, there is a distributed computing project that models climate change [11:28] It's because weather is a chaos system, so it always has probabilistic outcomes, no matter how well you think you know the forces at play [11:28] theblazehen: And it is most of the time probably wrong :P [11:28] well no [11:28] sorry, I read that incorrectly [11:28] Climate change it can model [11:28] gremble: Well, it's planning long term, not short term weather [11:28] but not weather forcasting [11:28] yeah [11:28] Ran that for a while [11:29] www.climateprediction.net [11:29] I see wikipedia talking about probability of precipitation (POP) usually expresses a combination of degree of confidence and areal coverage [11:31] Wow, I made vlc segfaullt [11:33] Odd. [11:34] I'd think that projects like that ran extensive valgrind testing to prevent shit like that [11:34] gremble: Yeah, opened a mkv from the cli, crashes. Opening it from the media menu in vlc has no problem [11:35] Should I file a bug report you think? [11:36] Yup [11:38] My friend usually has me edit is documents and often says that he can learn a lot about writing from me, but he still vehemently fights with me whenever I tell him to not use the passive voice in writing or to not just list facts, etc. [11:39] heh. Those kinds of people.. [15:30] Welp, firefox crashed.. [15:30] And I can't open any new windows of anything.. [15:31] Oh.. Maximum number of clients reached?! [15:31] Something I can duckduckgo :) [17:52] Kilos: why so quiet on this hot Saturday evening? [17:53] just cruising [17:53] flat on my back with the idiot box making a noise [17:53] surely you must be enjoying this heat? [17:53] i love it [17:54] 35 tomorrow [17:54] ai! [17:55] i can ctach some UV's [17:55] catch [17:55] if only that helped to charge my batteries [17:56] ai! [17:56] I'm afraid my battery goes flat very quickly with such heat [17:56] no loadshedding till april [18:08] Yay! Guess I can play with ZFS then :) === gremble is now known as somethingunique === somethingunique is now known as gremble [18:55] night all . sleep tight [19:25] good evening [19:27] Hi magespawn [19:33] Hey magespawn [19:52] in and out, like a boomarang [19:52] It's how you roll [19:59] i am cool like that [21:04] bed time for me, good night all [23:31] Whats the rules of this irc tho? [23:31] And hey [23:33] Vlekkie: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IRC/TermsOfService These are the terms of service rules [23:33] informally, be polite and stay within the spirit of the channel :) [23:33] Hello [23:34] Most people are only online from like 08:00-ish to 22:00 or 23:00 though [23:37] But take that it's off topic then? [23:38] it's offtopic? What is 'it's'? [23:38] NM lol [23:39] Alright :) [23:40] Gonna head to bed, cheers [23:40] Cheers [23:40] See you around [23:41] One last thing, anyone know what the best irc client for Android is? [23:42] I've heard good things about irccloud. I use Andirc or something like that [23:42] I used to at least [23:42] I'm using "Andchat" ATM and seems good , but wonder if there is better? [23:42] Oh, yes that is the one that I used [23:43] Okay thanks cheers :)
