[04:41] Hi there, i just switched from xubuntu to ubuntu studio and basically lost all sound (input and output) Can someone pplease help me here? I think it's going to be the JACK server not having the right soundcard settings, but i cant figure it out :( [14:53] hello [14:53] someone could help me? [14:54] I want to install ubuntustudio on my pc [14:54] !install | studio-user207 [14:54] studio-user207: Ubuntu can be installed in lots of ways. [23:28] the most current, as far as I know [23:28] i downloaded the ISO, like, a month ago maybe? [23:28] ok [23:29] you are talking about using two Audio devices which is generally not done in Jack [23:29] You would need to use zita-a2j/j2a for the other sound device [23:30] in a terminal type: arecord -l [23:30] -l is a lower case L [23:30] it will tell you what the name of your USB audio IF is. [23:32] alright, and zita-a2j/j2a should add channels to help reroute the sound? [23:32] yes. [23:32] for example: zita-a2j -j ${AI2}-in -d hw:${AI2} -r $RATE -p $FRAME -n $PERIOD & [23:34] zita-a2j -j usbinput -d hw:USB -r 48000 -p 1024 -n 2 & [23:40] desiworm: Please note that zita-a2j has to do resampling because your USB IF and your internal IF will have slightly different sample rates even though they are set the same. But zita-a2j/j2a has some of the very best resampling around. [23:42] YES! that fixed it [23:42] took me a minute to get the device name right [23:42] thank you so much :D [23:43] hm, well, i have input now, but no output through the headphones i'm using :\ [23:48] scratch that, i didn't have it routed correctly. [23:56] desiworm: great. Have fun.
