ExplodingKittensHey, I'm trying to install Thunar 1.6.10 from source on Ubuntu 15.04, but I keep running into a problem during the make phase after running ./configure with --disable-manpages. The error is here: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/13808261/. Does anyone know of any workaround or fix for this?02:40

medicijnmanhi guys. i'm experiencing really bad audio whenever i start up a vm in qemu. also, after a couple of minutes it completely disappears. the vm only correctly plays audio if i specify -soundhw es1370. i have looked at multiple threads with similar symptoms but their solutions make it even worse on my machine.14:31
medicijnmani have tried to compile the qemu 2.4 from source but that one tries to use oss rather than pulseaudio. hence i get no sound in that compiled version. any suggestions what i can try to eliminate audio cracks and white noise?14:33

tyrogHi guys I want to use an Ubuntu-based distribution but don't like either Unity or GNOME. Should I go with Xfce or MATE? What are the major differences? Thank you for helping me since I am a noob :D16:42
flocculantwell tyrog ...16:43
flocculantthis is #xubuntu - so I would say Xubuntu ;) the major differences are the desktop environment xfce or whatever mate uses and the default applications - no idea what mate uses16:43
tyrogflocculant: Which one is "better"? I know this is relative :D. Which one do you think has more useful features?16:44
tyrogI just think both Unity and GNOME are very bare and dumb for what I like to use16:44
tyrogAnd KDE is just too heavy16:44
tyrogI tried it already16:44
flocculantXubuntu16:45
flocculanttyrog: this isn't really a support issue - pop by #xubuntu-offtopic if you like16:46
tyrogflocculant: But I've read somewhere that Xfce is not very maintained and updated... what do you think?16:46
tyrogok flocculant will ask there thank you :)16:46
