When i boot back into ubuntu server the login screen is still telling me the old size, what am i missing to resize the partitions? [21:11] Gaz_: you've probably resized the partition, but not the file-system inside it [21:12] Yeah, I have just r elised this but now when i use resize2fs it tells me the device or resource is busy, any ideas how to fix that? [21:13] Gaz_: Is it a ext filesystem? [21:13] yes [21:14] Hmm, that should support online enlarging. At least ext4 does... [21:16] it is ext4, im reading this currently http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/138090/cant-resize-a-partition-using-resize2fs [21:16] is this the way to do it do you think? === cpaelzer is now known as cpaelzer_afk [21:19] Do you have the exact same error? [21:21] no, my error is resize2fs: device or resource busy while trying to open /dev/sda5 couldnt find a valid filessystem superblock [21:22] Yeah, so it's the same ;) Anyhow the second part, 'couldnt find a valid filessystem superblock', leads me to think that you have a broken filesystem. [21:22] I'd take a live-cd, check the filesystem and enlarge from there. [21:23] what tool can i use to enlarge the filesystem using the live cd? please excuse me being a noob [21:23] resize2fs ;) [21:24] ok ill give it a shot now, thanks for the help so far === quantic_ is now known as quantic === Lcawte is now known as Lcawte|Away [23:48] hello [23:49] how do i unlock a passwordless user? [23:57] if you do useradd without a password it's automatically locked [23:58] Tsutsukakushi: locked in some way other than not having a password? [23:59] we;; [23:59] well [23:59] it's just ! [23:59] by default [23:59] so locked [23:59] and no password
