WEB6BER66Why would I choose Lubuntu over Linux Mint MATE?02:45
utu8oruns better on lower powered devices like netbooks03:21
bioterrorutu8o, this netbook with atom n270 is only good for ircing09:31
utu8obioterror, you can browse the web just use no script addon for firefox. with that addon you can have like 100 tabs on a netbook14:11
utu8othat addon should probably be installed by default on Lubuntu14:11

bioterrorutu8o, I prefer Midori. it has adblock it's lightweight. I have made Midori to identify as iPhone :D16:45
DakshahUNetbootin does not seem to work for me on Ubuntu 14.04, what else should I use to burn the lubuntu image on udb?16:58
Dakshah**usb16:58
leszekDakshah: dd16:59
bioterrorsudo dd if=/path/to/image.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=4M16:59
leszekDakshah: the question is why isn't unetbootin working for you. Normally it should work just fine16:59
Dakshahleszek, I installed from the Ubuntu Software Center, Idk why it does not16:59
Dakshahbioterror, I would prefer some gui :\17:00
leszekDakshah: can you tell me what is exactly not working ? Doesn't the app start at all or doesn't it boot or what is the exact problem?17:00
Dakshahleszek, 1. It looks weird, seems outdated gui. 2. I cannot seem to navigate from the browse 3. The Version is not in the list, so for 16.something, I have to choose the daily option17:01
leszekDakshah: ah it looks weird as it is compiled against qt4 and you don't have qt4 installed or no theme for it set.17:03
leszek2. I do not understand. You can't browse local files or what ?17:03
leszek3. Never used the download list on unetbootin but a iso that I already have on my disk17:03
Dakshahleszek, I also have an iso on the disk17:03
leszekDakshah: so why not choosing it then ?17:04
Dakshahleszek, I dont think that is fine http://pasteboard.co/sFBVTu.png17:04
Dakshahleszek, I cannot see how to choose it.17:04
leszekDakshah: nope that is correct. Though it started as root user (so it can write to your drive properly). So you only need to navigate up then to your /home/username/Downloads folder or where you stored the iso. So its working correctly17:06
Dakshahleszek, Ohh! THANK YOU :)17:07
leszeknp :)17:07
Dakshahleszek, Btw, how do I check which drive it is?17:07
Dakshahleszek, it says only 'dev/sdb1' but I wanna be sure17:07
bioterrorlsblk17:08
leszekyou can use diskmanager or lsblk in a terminal :)17:08
Dakshahwhat is that17:08
DakshahThanks again :D17:08
leszeksudo blkid may also help sometimes to identify the partition as it shows labels and uuids that you can compare with the path when the usb stick is mounted17:09
Dakshahleszek, I had ubuntu on the pendrive earlier, and in the pop up I said Yes to Replace all files, will that be fine?17:10
leszekhmm... Dakshah let's wait and see. Normally I would recommend formatting the drive or removing all unnecessary files17:13
Dakshahleszek, I thought that would be done automatically XP17:13
leszekDakshah: nope unetbootin works non destructive17:15
Dakshahleszek, Hehe Okaie :)17:15
DakshahIt says (initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing a live file system17:18
leszekDakshah: when trying to boot ? Hmm... it can't seem to find the usb stick.17:22
Dakshahleszek, Yeah when trying to boot :P and it appeared when it was already in the process17:23
