[00:00] just a note, doing a Kubuntu 14.04 install and I really like how the installer shows a progress bar on the bottom even while you are still selecting items. [00:00] just an idea === G_ is now known as G [03:10] prob #1: this is getting a little annoying. One major hassle has lead to discovery of two others. My ubuntu virtualized systems (happens on debian too) loose the passwords that I have assigned to accounts) recovery is necessary, it then works for a while and then it looses the passwords, seems to happen on boot. I know I have the passwords right (single finger typing with copying passwords from a paper works for a while then it "looses" them) [03:10] problem 2: ubuntu keyboard assist is missing function keys (totally absent) Doesn't seem to be a work around [03:10] problem 3: vmware's fling embedded console doesnt allow the passing of function keys from debian desktop to vmware guest console (fling is from vmware labs) [03:12] have you filed bugs? [03:12] not yet wondering if its already been reported somewhere( I have looked but haven't found anything similar [03:12] ) [03:13] looking for a work around with the keyboard problem ( I will mirror the vm and cause it to happen see if i can recover source of bit error [03:13] that make passwords not work [03:13] you'd ahve to look at the appropriate bug trackers if you want to search. [03:13] happens on multiple instances over many years by the way debian too I just finally got sick of it enough to report it [03:14] th vmware issue at least you will likely have to report to vmware support [03:14] well, irc is not a bug reporting site. please file bug reports :) [03:15] +1 === kitterma is now known as ScottK [05:34] anyone familar with how to generate a linux-image-extra package for debian based systems from a mainline kernel? [14:22] Noskcaj: please fix a debdiff for bug 1524490 and I'm happy to upload it for you. I hope bluesabre is aware about that merge.
