[01:23] how do u join other channels [01:26] /join #kubuntu-offtopic for example. [01:27] dpkg -L argyll [01:27] Hi [01:27] Somebody can help me? [01:29] endernyash, you must first state your problem. [01:37] how can I install graphics card drivers? === endernyash is now known as endernyash_ === endernyash_ is now known as endernyash [01:43] what graphic card you have? [05:01] i was wondering if it's possible to have 3 or 4 linux distro's on the one hard drive? will grub let me boot into more than 2 OS's? === struk|desk is now known as struk|desk|away === struk|desk|away is now known as struk|desk === struk|desk is now known as struk|desk|away [06:19] AussieFello: yes, you can put as many on there as you can fit === struk|desk|away is now known as struk|desk [06:30] valorie thanks mate [06:30] have fun! [06:31] AussieFello: if you are instead talking about different desktops, like: xubuntu-desktop, unity-desktop etc. [06:31] you can have as many as you can stand [06:31] lol [06:33] nice one mate [06:33] i appreciate your effort [06:49] errr. valorie.. are you saying that i cant install 3 or more OS's on a single harddrive??? [06:50] sure [06:50] originally you said i could.. now you're saying it's desktops? [06:50] many people "dual boot" with a linux distro and windows for instance [06:50] but i want more than dual.... [06:50] you're in kubuntu, therefore I brought up desktops [06:51] because one can install many desktops on top of Ubuntu base [06:51] KDE, GNOME, Xfce, and a few others [06:51] you know what i was asking [06:52] right, grub can deal with whatever you give it [06:52] ok then [06:52] cause you never heard people talk about tri-boot [06:53] yes, people do that [06:53] often it's easier to just install in a VM [06:53] but some do triple or quadruple boots === struk|desk is now known as struk|desk|away === sheedy is now known as sheedy-away [07:56] hi all [07:56] :) [07:57] welcome here msaeed [07:57] thanks sir === Steffstoff is now known as Guest29161 === kinga is now known as obsrwr [09:06] I am missing the kworldclock widget. [09:08] * AussieFello shrugs [09:10] And the Comic Strip widget is not working. :( [09:10] what version are you running Graf_Westerholt? [09:11] KDE Plasma 5.4.2, Kubuntu 15.10 [09:12] you'd think it shouldnt be buggy considering its shipping with all systems :/ hrmm [09:12] how old is your hardware? [09:13] AussieFello, here is my hardware: http://www.sysprofile.de/id177503 [09:13] Graf_Westerholt: some of the widgets are returning [09:13] valorie, do you know about the Comic Strip and kworldclock widget? [09:13] but the work now is mostly on preparing for Wayland [09:14] I don't know about those, no [09:14] the only thing i can think of is the dual monitor setup? [09:15] AussieFello, why should be dual monitor a problem with Comic Strip? [09:15] Good morning. [09:15] lordievader [09:16] Hey Graf_Westerholt [09:21] Is Comic Strip widget working for you? [09:22] Seems so. [09:22] Don't really use it. [09:23] lordievader, does it show a comic strip when you set a comic? [09:23] Yes. [09:23] Maybe the config file is brocken. Does someone know where it is? [09:27] I just found wordview on my Kubuntu. :D [09:28] what did you find? [09:28] i hope you fixed your problem [09:28] A programm called wordview. [09:28] I am trying to find the config file for the Comic Strip Widget. [09:32] why not uninsall and reinstall Graf_Westerholt? [09:32] most configs are now in ~/.config [09:32] AussieFello, I do not understand. [09:32] AussieFello: what would that do? [09:33] reset the config settings [09:33] very rare something like that is worthwhile [09:33] config settings are just text files [09:33] easily edited [09:33] ok good [09:33] :_) [09:34] uninstalling doesn't purge configs however -- one must --purge if you want to do that [09:34] valorie, I cannot finde something like comic in ~/.config [09:34] in .kde [09:35] since it's a plasma widget, I presume it will be in a plasma rc or so [09:35] ubone: not since 15.10 [09:35] Not since Plasma5 ;) [09:35] now we have ~/.local and ~/.config [09:35] ah ok im happy with kde4.13 [09:36] the .kde stuff for unported applications still work [09:36] valorie, it seems to be that my kwallet is using an old config file. [09:36] if you have unported applications that need kwallet, yes [09:36] you'll have two [09:36] the old, and the new [09:36] Graf_Westerholt: The config for the Comic Strip widget can be found in ~/.local/share/plasma_engine_comic/ [09:37] ah, sorry for leading you astray, Graf_Westerholt [09:37] valorie, no problem. [09:37] valorie, most you are a good help. :) [09:37] almost 2am, probably time to sleep! [09:38] Good idea. I'm off to bed too [09:38] how are you going to config that file? [09:39] Fritigern, i renamed this directory but Comic Strip still loads the setted comics. [09:39] So the config file must be somewhere else. [09:40] can somebody help me how to install my mouse drivers? I still loaded and depressed the tar.bz2 [09:40] I'm new in kubuntu till yesterday [09:41] General_Martok, normally, you do not need to install mouse drivers. [09:41] my roccat savu has multiple options. They only fit with special drivers [09:44] http://sourceforge.net/projects/roccat/files/ there I loaded the roccat-tools but don't know how to install the unpacked folder [09:46] General_Martok, did you try to set actions for the mouse buttons with khotkeys? [09:47] General_Martok, you press ALT+F2 and enter khotkeys and press enter. [09:51] valorie, when I start KWalletManager, it shows me old passwords. [10:03] @Graf: No I didn't try. There are mouch further options like light colour etc. in my mouse. So I need the driver pack installed [10:08] General_Martok: There seems to be an ppa available for it: https://launchpad.net/~berfenger/+archive/ubuntu/roccat [10:09] No need to compile stuff, add the ppa and install the package. === jayhunold is now known as jhunold [10:33] When I set an e-mail signature from a file in KMail, it says “The signature file is not valid”. How can I install PPA? Thank you for your support yesterday (Guest 10010011) [10:38] General_Martok: Open a terminal (Konsole): sudo apt-add-ppa ppa:berfenger/roccat&&sudo apt-get update&&sudo apt-get install roccat-tools [10:40] sudo: apt-add-ppa: Befehl nicht gefunden [10:40] It doesn't work [10:41] General_Martok, just copy the command. [10:41] General_Martok, you wrote it wrong. [10:42] I copied: sudo apt-add-ppa ppa:berfenger/roccat&&sudo apt-get update&&sudo apt-get install roccat-tools - and it doesn't work [10:42] General_Martok, right, I tested it and the command is not found. [10:55] General_Martok, my is the same. [10:55] ok [10:55] I copied his ;) [10:55] what does I have to do now? [10:56] General_Martok, start the roccat-tool. :D [10:56] General_Martok, I would try to enter rocca in the terminal and press the tab button. [10:57] If it complete the command, it exists and you can press enter. [10:57] doesn't work [10:59] General_Martok, maybe you can find the new program in the k-menu. [11:03] its not there [11:03] General_Martok, sorry, I do not know the name of the program. [11:05] General_Martok: You ran the full command? [11:05] i ran: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:berfenger/roccat &&sudo apt-get update&&sudo apt-get install roccat-tools [11:06] Did it error somewhere? [11:07] General_Martok: From the sourceforge page: GUI applications for configuring the devices. Usually they can be found in the settings menu of your desktop. [11:15] what can i do? [11:16] reboot? [11:16] General_Martok, I think you can solve this without reboot, but I think for this it might be faster to reboot. Then try the command from lordievader again. [11:18] And you have to run 'sudo adduser username roccat' with your username. [11:18] i think the command now wirked: https://goo.gl/QaOYno [11:19] General_Martok, yes, seems good. [11:19] General_Martok, now run 'sudo adduser username roccat' with your username. [11:19] worked [11:19] :) [11:19] :) [11:20] User added [11:20] :) [11:20] Now try to run roccat-tools [11:21] the app says no ISKU found. I've never had luck with Kubuntu working reliably with my Atheros cards, but that may just be a fluke with me. Perhaps you can research what chipset your card uses and see if there are known problems or issues with it, and perhaps check the driver being used by Kubuntu.
