jimtendo-X202EPHey guys, not sure if this would constitute a bug or not, but I've noticed with Kubuntu 15.10 (and I'm guessing Ubuntu 15.10) that when compiling Qt apps in CMake the /usr/local/ ${PLUGIN_INSTALL_DIR} is not included in the sytem's environment variables. Instead, I have to set this manually with QT_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/local/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/plugins/. Is there a reason why this couldn't be set automatically by Ubuntu?01:53
ash66hello all02:18
Lirushey, im trying to change my dns-server on an raspberry pi router and an kubuntu client with no success :/ first i tried to configuere the raspberry pi dhcpd correctly but it didnt change my clients dns settings. then i tried the gui of the kubuntui network manager - no success. then i killed network-manager because my resolv.conf says Genereated by NetworkManager and tried to change the dns settings by hand but still no success :( :/ how the hell can i02:37
Liruschange this?02:37

nenis43Why do you prefer Kubuntu to Ubuntu?06:42
valorienenis43: for me: the community, and KDE over unity06:45
nenis43Is KDE more resource intensive than Unity?06:46
soeethere is not KDE as such since 15.04. Now we have Plasma06:47
soeeand i don't think Plasma requires more resoures than Unity06:47

frusenis it possible to upgrade from 14.04 to 15.10?  i've tried both using muon and do-release-upgrade07:34
frusenERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'E:Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.'07:42
frusenapt.log has a lot of broken entries07:43
fruseni suspect it's because i try to upgrade to 15.10 directly from 14.04 but i'm not sure07:43
frusenBroken baloo-kf5:amd64 Depends on libqt5widgets5 [ amd64 ] < none -> 5.4.1+dfsg-2ubuntu4.1 > ( libs ) (>= 5.0.2)07:44
frusenthis is the first time i try upgrading, always done fresh installs before07:46
soeefrusen: might not work. Since 15.04 Kubuntu uses Plasma 5 and this is a big jump from KDE07:52
NotimikHi all, any one more than me that have problems with dual screen setup and that new programs starts on wrong screen ( left one )?08:01
=== Steffstoff is now known as Guest72592
SmurphyNotimik: If I remember correctly, the programs will always start on the primary screen.08:07
NotimikSmurphy: most do but firefox and blender allways go to wrong screen08:09
Smurphyheh... So no real KDE apps :}08:10
NotimikSmurphy: firefox is most stubborn since when you move it to primary screen it half expands and if you go full screen nad back to normal it jumps screen again08:10
Smurphyyep. Noticed that too.08:11
NotimikSmurphy: well firefox is kind of mandatory08:11
Smurphybut I don't think the KDE folks can do something about it.08:11
Notimikblender i can live without08:11
Notimiksounds wierd must be some kwin thingy08:13
frusensoee: i see.  is there a way to upgrade to 14.10->15.04->15.10?08:16
frusenmaybe a fresh install is a better idea08:16
soeefrusen: yes i would recommend it08:19
Smurphyfrusen: I did the upgrade. Main issue is the plasma caches you need to flush/empty.08:20
fruseni think i'll wait until the next lts08:20
frusenSmurphy: 14.04 to 15.10?08:20
Smurphythat's a good Idea too ...08:20
Smurphyfrusen: yes. that's what I did.08:21
Smurphybut I had to fix quite some stuff under the hood. It's not a plain/regular setup I have here.08:21
Smurphymost issues I have are still with kontact/akonadi08:21
frusenhow is plasma 5?  i tried on netrunner and it was quite buggy for me08:21
frusenalso tried on manjaro08:22
