[18:19] <donu7> hello, i'm trying to learn maas+openstack but i am having the hardest time setting up maas networking. my setup is using 3 nics, 2 onboard, 1 pci 10g nic. I have the region controller installed and it's using eth0. The issue is the other 2 nics aren't picked up by either maas dhcp or the public network's dhcp. If i set up static entries in /etc/network/interfaces all the ip routes show as failed
[18:20] <donu7> the nics are enabled and set to auto dhcp in /etc/network/interfaces but i have them set up to provide dns/dhcp in the maas cluster controller
[18:21] <donu7> is it sufficient to specify in maas web gui to use eth1 as dhcp/dns for the internal maas network?
[18:25] <donu7> or, to take a step back, is there a recommended methodology when setting up maas on a box with 2+ nics?
[18:45] <donu7> or, how is maas configured between 2 nics where maas (the region controller i assume) can perform NAT between the network attached to eth0 and eth1 ?

[19:20] <donu7> I've solved my issue. For posterity, here's my findings: 1) /etc/maas/maas_local_settings.py had the wrong IP for the region controller. A mistake I made during region-controller install.
[19:21] <donu7> 2) my region-controller interfaces needed to be setup  before adding the cluster master. I was specifying too much static info in /etc/network/interfaces. All that i needed was static ip & netmask.
