robin-herohey all. I'd like to create a scope with JS, but I think this tutorial is really outdated: https://developer.ubuntu.com/en/scopes/tutorials/developing-scopes-javascript/09:52
robin-heroI'm using Ubuntu 14.04 & 16.04 (dev branch), but I only see C++ scope templates on both machines09:53
robin-heroin the SDK09:53
robin-heroAnd I can't install the mentioned unity-js-scopes-dev package as well09:53

robin-heroappdevs12:10
robin-hero!appdevs12:11
robin-herohow can I use keywords "appdevs"?12:11
mcphailrobin-hero: the appdevs will have set their IRC clients to highlight on that word. (But I have never seen it work)12:12
robin-heromcphail, Thanks :)12:13
robin-heroBTW, I try to ask my question again:12:13
robin-hero I'd like to create a scope with JS, but I think this tutorial is really outdated: https://developer.ubuntu.com/en/scopes/tutorials/developing-scopes-javascript/12:13
robin-hero I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 & 16.04 (dev branch), but I only see C++ scope templates on both machines in the SDK12:14
robin-heroAnd I can't install the mentioned unity-js-scopes-dev package as well12:14
mcphailrobin-hero: you missed the bit saying "Note: JavaScript scopes development is supported from Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid) onwards.". And 16.04 isn't released yet, so I suspect the SDK chaps won't be supporting it yet12:15
mcphailrobin-hero: if you want ot be up-to-date, use 15.1012:15
robin-heroHmm, this is a little bit weird for me... I'll try 15.10, thanks12:16
=== javiercrowsoft1 is now known as javiercrowsoft
davidcallerobin-hero: no need to go back to 15.10, just use the 15.10 packages from the PPA14:38
robin-herohow can I do that?14:39
davidcallein "Software & Updates", look for the SDK PPA entry and switch the release to wily14:39
robin-herothanks, a give it a try14:39
robin-herodavidcalle, Can I use this on 14.04 as well? or just on 16.04?14:39
davidcallerobin-hero: np, I've asked for 16.04 but they are apparently not ready yet14:40
mcphaildavidcalle: are you sure about running wily packages on trusty? Won't the libstdc++ changes break things?14:43
davidcallemcphail: that's what I'm doing for these14:45
mcphaildavidcalle: OK, good to know. I thought that would cause problems ;)14:45
davidcallerobin-hero: mcphail , fyi 16.04 packages are going to land in the PPA in a few hours14:55
robin-heroawesome! :) thanks15:00

robin-herorc-proposed or dev channel?15:11
elijahHola guys, does #ubuntu-* have a bot to set reminders with?15:11
elijahWant to set a reminder for the app-dev hackathon on Monday15:11
elijahargh, watching the hangout on air and only 480p still, come on Google!15:15
DS-McGuirerobin-hero, What ever one's the best.15:15
robin-heroDS-McGuire, I recommend rc-proposed, it is more stable than the dev... but It gets all new features (there are daily builds everday exclude weekend)15:17
DS-McGuirerobin-hero, Sounds perfect!15:17
robin-heroyou can switch from your phone (via a command in terminal) or flash from computer15:17
robin-heroare you on a stable release now?15:17
DS-McGuireYes15:18
DS-McGuireI followed: http://askubuntu.com/questions/645652/how-to-flash-meizu-mx4-ubuntu-edition-with-another-channel15:18
DS-McGuireBut it doesn't do anything, I'm just left with a blinking cursor15:18
robin-heroit doesn't do anything on the UI, just under the hood.15:20
robin-heroyou get the new image when it arrives15:20
robin-herocheck which channel do you use with this command:  system-image-cli --info on phone15:20
robin-heroit should be: channel: ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/meizu.en or meizu.zn15:21
elijahoh, looks like hangouts-on-air supports at least up to 720p. @ubuntu-on-air, can you please record the on air in 720p next time - This is hard to view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2lotZ6CyVY15:21
robin-heroDS-McGuire, you will get a new release tomorrow morning15:22
elijahOh wait, when it is embedded (http://ubuntuonair.com/), the max resolution is 480p, but when you go to YouTube.com then the max is increased to 720p.15:22
DS-McGuirerobin-hero, It still says my channel is stable.15:23
DS-McGuireShould I run it again?15:23
robin-heroI have never used this method, I always use flashing, but it says: "After automatic download and reboot you will have the new channel. Be warned this channel is not for normal usage."15:24
robin-heroso try a reboot15:24
DS-McGuirerobin-hero, Phone has been rebooted a bunch of time.15:24
DS-McGuiretimes*15:24
robin-herookay, try the other method: connect your phone to the destkop, and unlock the screen, then use the following command on destkop:15:25
robin-heroubuntu-device-flash touch --channel ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/meizu.en15:25
elijahThe how to buy link on http://www.ubuntu.com/phone/devices takes you to Cyanogen edition.15:26
robin-heroit downloads the image, then it pushes to the phone, then it will reboot15:26
robin-heroDS-McGuire, any progress?15:28
DS-McGuiresorry was making food15:29
DS-McGuirerobin-hero, That seems to be working!15:30
robin-hero:)15:30
DS-McGuireDoes the screen need to be on all the time?15:30
DS-McGuireThank you!15:31
robin-heroI'm not sure about that, so I say yes :)15:32
robin-heroyou're welcome15:32
