[09:23] some attempts at port-knocking and brute forcing passwords on my SSH port are pathetic [09:23] davmor2: yeah but that won't take long [09:23] knightwise: happens to me all the time, and just for a desktop that I use as a IRC machine :( [09:24] they'll never guess 123456 [09:26] or admin admin [09:26] * knightwise needs to torrent excell for dummies 2016 [09:26] that's a crap password, be like me and use megaman3 :) unless you're reading this on windows where you'll see ******** [09:26] ordered the physical books and they take a week to get here [09:26] MooDoo: Whahah [09:27] knightwise: what you need to know about excel? [09:27] ordered a book yesterday and was told probably a month... [09:27] knightwise: you are right torrents will excell for dummies in 2016 [09:27] don't they realise everyone plays d&d?? :-) [09:30] davmor2: golden [09:31] MooDoo: currently working as a project manager , need to brush up on some sorting an querying skills [09:31] :) [09:35] and it won't hurt to know some to do my own fincances [09:38] query: which is the best off shore tax shelter... :-P [09:40] Belgium [09:40] naah [09:40] its not [09:40] Luxemburg [10:01] Good morning all! Happy Friday, and happy Answer Your Cats' Questions Day! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐Ÿˆ [10:05] no kitty it's not time to play....... aieeeeee!!!! [10:06] "No I don't know why you are plotting to kill me" [10:06] and "yest I have noticed" [10:09] the ideal alarm, one that pulls the duvet up at desired time and exposes one foot to your cats attention... try and snooze through that... :-) [10:10] No, it's not time for feeding yet. [10:10] No, it's still not time for feeding yet. [10:11] you want to go out? [10:11] you *don't* want to go out? [10:19] Still not time for feeding. [10:20] repeat door request... [10:22] morning boys and girls. [10:43] Morning brobostigon, did you get your telegram bot thing working ? [10:44] diplo: it isnt throwing error, but it doesnt seem to be pushing notification either. [10:52] yay i like telegram [10:54] * brobostigon wants notifications from irssi and bitlbee pushed to ubuntu touch. [11:10] Did you try running telegram-cli as well brobostigon ? [11:10] Sorry phone went [11:10] umm? [11:10] JamesTait: Wednesday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBnsNTBqzWQ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7vjxhqMPng Thursday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZSbkYjQer8 Thats obviously a hug right your heartbeat next to mine :) Friday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOu-dWhTTWw [11:11] From my repo, about running it manually install of connecting to a bot [11:12] JamesTait: better version for Friday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSTBFZ-To2E [11:12] so push notification directly from my irssi to my phone without the bot in the middle? [11:25] Good morning peeps :) [11:28] brobostigon: Yup, you basically auth with the CLI as yourself [11:28] https://github.com/vysheng/tg [11:29] https://github.com/vysheng/tg [11:29] sorry. [11:53] diplo: how will it help? can you explain please. [12:00] Well the bots weren't around when I did my thing, but you basically message yourself instead [12:01] I created a group and messaged a Nagios Group for when I did it [12:01] The bots may be a better solution if you can get it to work [12:01] ah i see. [12:01] Me and knightwise were messaging each other over the CLI :) [12:02] :) [12:02] Just got my first web page up talking to GPIO on my Pi :) turning an led on and off... its the little things :D [12:02] My sons going to love it [12:03] cool, [12:04] i will do further research as to if there are other solutions to do what i am thinking of doing. [12:06] diplo: ? [12:22] you could make the pi blink notifications to you in morse... :-) [12:30] zmoylan-pi: so Cryptonomicon :) [12:55] JamesTait: You've gone all silent I hope it wasn't the bombardment of videos :) [12:59] davmor2, not at all. I was waiting for my mum to come home so I could tell her I'm going to Uruguay. [12:59] JamesTait: say what? [12:59] JamesTait: to live or a sprint [12:59] Just for a week! [13:00] For a sprint. [13:00] JamesTait: that's not as exciting then :) [13:00] It is for me! [13:34] JamesTait: you'll have to drink mate instead of coffee ;) [13:34] No, davmor2, I'll take a stock of tea like I always do. ๐Ÿ˜‰ [13:35] But I'll have some mate as well. [13:35] JamesTait: just drink mate it will put hairs on your chest :) [13:35] But then how will they learn about tea? [13:35] no, it's a pretentious drink, it gives you airs... :-D [13:36] Ba-dum, tsch! [13:36] Right, LUNCH! [13:37] left LUNCH! [13:37] down lunch! [13:49] *belch* lunch! [13:49] Aldi BBQ ribs, yum [13:51] and if you buy the deluxe aldi bbq ribs you find out what animal they came from... :-P [13:51] Tasted like pork to me [13:52] * zmoylan-pi whistles nonchantly... [13:53] Actually, most of the taste was the rather strong bbq sauce [13:53] My tum says that it tasted like sanctification [14:08] bigcalm: If you are looking for a snack I can recommend there pot noodles equivalent you need to let it stew though then it tastes amazing :) [14:10] Ribs are a bit more than a snack [14:10] But I'll keep that in mind, ta [14:10] pot noodles are less than a food... :-) [14:11] did you learn nothing from lister in red dwarf? [14:11] ew pot noodles [14:17] Myrtti: if they are cooked correctly they are yummy ask popey [14:18] zmoylan-pi: don't make me pull my Liam Neeson Impression out of the draw ;) [14:20] is there a way to make bitlbee messages, rather than just being confined to a specific irssi window, show in other windows like normal highlights? [14:20] sure [14:20] I just can't remember how :-D [14:20] it's been a while... [14:20] ah, :) [14:22] brobostigon: use a split window view on irssi for highlights and bitlbee maybe then it is always on display? [14:24] davmor2: that wouldnt neccesserily solve the problem, its the behaviour, ie i want bitlbee messages to behave like normal highlights and be interpreted like normal highlights not as confined to a single window. [14:24] seeing those highlights isnt the problem i am trying to solve. [14:26] brobostigon: ah sorry misunderstood, does it flag the name as bitlbee so you know where it has come from if so you can just add a highlight for the word/user, ie is it like bitlbee: twitter says you suck ;) [14:27] what i am tyring to test, is if the irssi script i was trying to get working last night, behaves differently to normal irssi highlights and to confined highlights within bitlbee to a certain window. [14:32] brobostigon: not a direct answer to your question, but I came upon this, trying to figure out why a script didn't start http://www.antonfagerberg.com/blog/my-perfect-irssi-setup/ it covers some bitlbee stuff too not sure how deep if it covers what you are after but might help [14:32] ok, thank you, davmor2 [14:32] s/if/or if [16:46] * Laney meows [16:59] no Laney you can't go early finish off everything you are working on [17:00] * Laney meows louder at davmor2 [17:00] * Laney looks at the tin of tuna on the side [17:00] * Laney meows insistently [17:02] no Laney you can't go early finish off everything you are working on and here have the flippin tuna then get back to work [17:02] * zmoylan-pi teaches cat to open tin of catfood accidently starting the feline rebellion... [17:02] * Laney goes to sleep next to the radiator [17:23] Laney: too cute! [18:20] Title: Ubuntu: 2878-1: Perl vulnerability [18:20] Link: http://www.linuxsecurity.com/content/view/166800?rdf [18:20] Description: LinuxSecurity.com: Perl incorrectly handled the taint attribute. [18:20] whats going on? [18:42] svea_: youโ€™ll have to be more specific than โ€œwhatโ€™s going on?" [20:06] anyone now anything about the skylake bug? will the fix affect performance? [22:11] hi, is there a way of emulating ubuntu phone on windows as i want to try it out [22:12] http://developer.ubuntu.com/en/apps/sdk/tutorials/using-the-ubuntu-emulator/ [22:12] i was in here anyway (lurking)
