[13:06] morning [13:07] morn [13:12] how goes? [13:13] so so, lots of party fun today [13:13] how goes it down your way? [13:14] Eh, it goes [13:14] heh [13:14] hoping to make it out to the CVGA to drop off more video games [13:14] calling the doc to schedule an appt. because I'm getting old. [13:15] Fun fun [13:15] and this is the last week before launching something for work [13:15] which is always fun times [13:16] wheeee [13:29] hi [13:42] hi 2u2 [14:00] Hello [14:21] CVGA? drop off? are you purging your collection? [14:23] jrwren: Donating parts of my collection [14:23] Stuff that is more hassle than it's worth to keep. :) [14:26] cmaloney: go a list? I know a guy who collects. [14:26] jrwren: 's OK. [14:26] I'm looking more for folks to get some use out of it [14:26] and this is in line with one of my goals - opening a museum [14:27] keeping the stuff that really interests me [14:27] ah! I see. [14:27] and giving others a chance to experience this stuff first-hand. [14:27] Stuff they might not see otherwise. [14:28] yup. Well, Mike is into cabinets, so if you have any boards or cabinet parts. He restores those and runs them. Otherwise, he's probably not interested [14:28] Yeah, I know some collectors [14:28] it's more hassle than it's worth. :) [14:29] Keeping the big machines. :) [14:29] I agree. [14:29] (and the Amiga, because it's awesome, and because the spirit of Jay Miner lives on) [14:29] whoo hoo! [14:30] But the 5200? I'll never play it and most of the great games got ported to the 8-bit [14:30] but... rare! [14:30] (and most of the games started on the 8-bit) [14:30] Meh. :) [14:30] Rare because those controllers suck [14:30] haha! yup [14:31] I think the amiga ports are compat with atari sticks. have you played any amiga games? [14:31] Yeah, I have [14:31] Amiga is awesome. [14:31] I wish I would have figured that out a long time ago [14:31] but the commodore hate was palpable. [14:32] I understand. I much prefered Atari, mostly because the basic on 800XL had drawing primitives. [14:32] Wel, the Atari 800 was a great machine [14:33] unfortunately undocumented until later in its life [14:33] Stupid Atari [14:33] They did some pretty bone-headed maneuvers [14:34] And I never got around to picking up an Atari ST [14:34] Though I think it's because I was saving myself for Linux. ;) [14:34] ha! same here. [14:35] so glad I never programmed on DOS 16bit and that segmented memory insanity [14:35] well, I did, but not much [14:35] Yeah, I played with it and found it ridiculous [14:36] "how the hell should I know what my 'hello world' program needs" [14:41] php7, apparetnly :P
