MoPacHello. I'm trying to test out a live session with unity8-mir-desktop-session in 16.04 (latest image). When I log in as the Unity8 user, I get a system crash with a segfault. Is this expected in a live session?16:52
MoPacThe only other thing "wrong" with the session as far as I can tell is that lvm2 won't configure on update (even though I remounted the root directory as rw), but I don't know if the Mir session depends on that16:53
lotuspsychjeMoPac: unity8 running fine here on xenial desktop17:04
lotuspsychjeMoPac: of course in this stage things can break, maybe file a bug for it?17:05
lotuspsychjeMoPac: its also not the final unity8 yet neither, looks more like the ubuntu touch version right now17:06
MoPaclotuspsychje : is it likely to be related to the lvm problem?17:12
lotuspsychjeMoPac: not sure mate, but if it doesnt crash in unity7?17:12
lotuspsychje!bug | MoPac i would file one in this stage17:13
ubottuMoPac i would file one in this stage: If you find a bug in Ubuntu or any of its derivatives, please file a bug using the command « ubuntu-bug <package> » - See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs for other ways to report bugs.17:13
MoPacUnity7 seems alright. When I log out and then log into the Unity8 session, the screen just goes black. Dmesg says segfault at 0 ip 00007f7ed7cc500f sp 00007ffc17d965b0 error 4 in libmirclient.so.9[7f7ed7c72000+8c000]17:14
MoPacI'll report it17:14
lotuspsychjeyeah it be best mate17:16
lotuspsychjeMoPac: sure you got correct drivers for graphics installed right?17:16
MoPaclotuspsychje: I mean, I haven't done anything to the graphics stack of the live usb specifically -- just update, dist-upgrade, add the universe/proposed, and install the unity8 session17:19
lotuspsychjeok mate17:20
lotuspsychjeMoPac: try the bug and youl see what the devs say17:21
goddardlooks like 16.04 is having issues connecting to hidden networks18:35
goddardI can add them, but the "connect" button is always disabled18:35
goddardI always have to sudo iwconfig wlp3s0 essid "SSID NAME"18:36
goddardDoes ubuntu-desktop depend on Nautilus?18:57
tewardgoddard: i think it might, you could check the dependencies list18:57
tewardgoddard: confirmed, it does:18:58
DaekdroomI think it's a recommend.18:58
goddardoh anyone know the reason why?19:00
goddardi like Dolphin19:00
goddardis it the trash icon?19:00
goddardis that the only reason?19:00
DaekdroomNevermind. I've checked it and it's a dependency indeed.19:00
DaekdroomI think uninstalling Nautilus might break the Unity desktop.19:01
goddardoh like the actual desktop19:02
goddardlike the wall paper or something?19:02
DaekdroomYeah. The desktop icons, etc.19:02
goddardis the new unity going to have this situation?19:02
DaekdroomNo idea. I hope not. I don't think it'd make much sense either, given they're making something new instead of building on top of GNOME.19:06
goddardDaekdroom: yeah thats cool19:08
goddardill look forward to that then19:08
