[01:34] <furkan> i upgraded to Ubuntu 16.04 alpha and i'm having intermittent problems with media keys (rebooting seems to fix the problem) so i was trying to find out how i could narrow down the regression
[01:35] <furkan> those instructions say to kill gnome-settings-daemon before running xev, but i don't seem to have that running on my system
[01:36] <furkan> well it looks like there is a unity-settings-daemon, i could try killing that

[23:57] <furkan> i seem unable to kill unity-settings-daemon
[23:57] <furkan> acpi_listener doesn't show me anything, and neither does xev (when the media keys are in their working state)
[23:58] <furkan> so i'm guessing i need to figure out a way to kill unity-settings-daemon to get some output out of xev
