[01:23] good evening [03:09] good evening folks [03:53] hi shantorn [03:54] well hi there, how was your day? [03:54] pretty good [03:54] just got done watching an amazing documetary, Alive Inside [03:55] about the power of music for older folks, esp. those with Alzheimers [03:55] thats great, this group is a small one, is the lug or the wa ubuntu users group very large? [03:55] that does sound interesting, did they explain aproccess that would help them not deteriorate like so many older people do? [03:56] shantorn: it used to be pretty big, when it was Ubuntu PNW [03:56] then Ubuntu decided that it had to be state by state [03:57] we've never really gotten it off the ground since it was split [03:57] Salt tried for awhile, Linda tried, I tried.... [03:57] I'm really active with Kubuntu and KDE and gave up being the person trying to drive this [03:58] I will go to meetings, but I will no longer set 'em up [03:58] my own dad is in a nursing home, and I visit him every other night [03:58] thats to bad it was split [03:58] and that sort of sucks up my time and energy now [03:58] thats so much more important! [03:58] its an effort well spent i would have to say [03:59] yea, we try to still stay involved with Portland folks [03:59] they usually come up for LFNW [03:59] i live in longview, about 50 miles from portlandd [03:59] and some of us try to go to OSCON [03:59] my son-in-law is from Longview/Kelso [04:00] i sued to attend oscon but 1200 bucks or more is hard to come up with now that i am disabled [04:00] I only went to staff the table [04:00] no way will I pay that money [04:01] and now just the vendor hall is 50 bucks, thats just rude to charge for people to advertise their stuff to me [04:01] bizarre [04:01] I've not gone for a few years [04:01] too corporate [04:01] lfnw is still awesome though [04:01] SeaGL was pretty good too [04:02] Scarlett came up for that, and we shared a table [04:02] i would love to attend that, i listened to LAS telling aobut it, sounds wonderful [04:02] #lfnw [04:02] LFNW that is [04:02] yes [04:06] well thanks for chiming in for a few valoq [04:06] valorie, * [04:07] I'll see you at LFNW I hope! [04:09] sure would be neat
