ryderrso, one thing that *really* pisses me off about xfce is how difficult it is to resize windows? there's literally a 1 pixel wide border that you can grab onto to resize a window? any settings to fix this?00:39
knomeryderr, please keep the language and attitude family-friendly00:46
knomeryderr, but to answer your question, http://xubuntu.org/news/window-resizing-in-xubuntu-and-xfce/00:46
ryderrthank you, nigger00:46

RoadRunneris there a screen saver app in xubuntu?03:28
xubuntu50whello04:30
heoyeaRoadRunner: xscreensaver04:34
RoadRunnerheoyea: ok, so that's from ubuntu software center; nothing is available in xubuntu by default right?04:35
heoyeaRoadRunner: yea u can install it04:36
RoadRunnerheoyea: what about rss-glx (that's also availbale on usc) and is suppose to be able to work independently from xscreensaver but doesn't.  Have you had any experience with that?04:37
heoyeahavent try anything else04:38
RoadRunnerI used rss under win and was happy with; installed it in xubuntu (without xscreensaver - which is suppose to work) each indiv. saver works as an app in a window but not as a screensaver...04:40
RoadRunnerI guess after installing xscrensaver, Light Locker becomes useless and can be removed?04:41
heoyeasure04:42
RoadRunnerdid anyone have any luck getting rss-glx screensaver to work without xscreensaver?05:34

Unit193There might be a PPA, but it is in Xenial.16:05
sorinelloHello. I have installed the package system-config-samba to manage samba shares from GUI. When I start it, it requires my password, but then nothing appears on the screen19:27
sorinelloany idea is the package is broken ?19:28
Unit193sorinello: I have never used that application, but can you either start it via terminal, or look in ~/.cache/upstart/startxfce4.log?19:28
sorinelloUnit193, indeed, there are some errors http://pastebin.com/jjUk70bb19:29
Unit193!find /etc/libuser.conf19:31
ubottuPackage/file /etc/libuser.conf does not exist in wily19:31
sorinelloand indeed, I don't have that file19:31
Unit193sorinello: There's a few https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/system-config-samba/+bugs?orderby=-id&start=0 in there for that.  This really looks quite outdated...19:33
sorinellook, so I'll assume the package is broken, so I'll remove it. Thanks !19:34

xubuntu065Inew to ubuntu, I am still installing22:49
mikodoWhat display  server will Xubuntu be able to use once Ubuntu goes to Mir? Will X be supported for Xubuntu to use? Is XMir planned to be the long-term solution? What?22:56
knomenobody knows yet; the xubuntu team will give a fair chance for all technologies22:56
knomebut of course it depends on xfce too22:56
mikodoknome, Thx. "fair chance for all technogies" could that mean even looking at Wayland if need be?22:58
knomesure.22:58
mikodoGood. Then I don't need to worry for the long-term.22:59
mikodoknome, One last thing. To keep abreast of developments, would the discussion on transition be discussed  here? https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/xubuntu-users23:24
knomemikodo, in terms of mailing list discussions, https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/xubuntu-devel23:25
knomemikodo, and the irc channel #xubuntu-devel23:25
mikodoknome, Got it. Thank you!23:26
knomeno problem23:26
knomeand if you are interested in helping, we'll happily help you get started and more in either of those place23:26
mikodoknome, I would love to be able to, but if I told you my story, you would see why I can't afford the time really.23:27
knomei understand (though let me try to lure you a bit more by telling there are tasks that do not require that much time investment (at any particular time) as well)23:28
mikodoLet me guess. Testing23:29
knomeanything is welcome really, even just following discussion (and taking part)23:29
knomeincluding, but not only that :)23:29
mikodoI'll start with reading the batch file lists. Thank you,.23:30
knomenp :)23:30
