[23:30] <ibeardslee> and with a tweak to /usr/share/python-apt/templates/Ubuntu.mirrors ubuntu can sort of treat it like an official one
[23:33] <mwhudson> i'm going a different route, setting up squid-deb-proxy to re-route requests
[23:34] <mwhudson> so official-ness doesn't really matter :-)
[23:34] <mwhudson> and omg why did i not do this before
[23:34] <olly> they had something like that set up at debconf
[23:35] <mwhudson> actually it's because i used apt-cacher-ng and that has a knack for making transient issues permanent
[23:35] <olly> hmm, i'm using that without issues so far
[23:35] <olly> though I don't use it very heavily, and rarely in parallel
