[07:59] <daxcat> yep. Volcanic Islands cards use that, and I think Sea Islands can too but not 100% sure. Everything else is radeon.

[08:50] <nhaines> In any case, there's just vesa support now.

[08:56] <nhaines> It isn't loading.  But I think Ubuntu didn't uninstall fglrx cleanly, so making the appropriate changes.
[08:59] <nhaines> Seems to work now.
[09:03] <nhaines> Video playback is smoother on the occasional trouble videos, too.  Have to test gaming, but so far this is auspicious.
[09:13] <nhaines> We'll maybe call it suboptimal.
[09:38] <daxcat> radeon does video and desktop stuff better. fglrx does gaming better and everything else worse
[09:38] <daxcat> since the only good game is nethack, radeon ftw
[09:58] <nhaines> I do most of my gaming in Windows, so it will be a slight inconvenience, but it should suffice.
