[02:32] tjaalton: did you see this? https://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-announce/2016-March/002681.html [02:33] Looks like those glamor fixes have been merged into 1.18.2 [02:33] also "glamor is updated to use OpenGL core profiles if available, which should improve memory usage and performance on modern hardware" [02:41] Will 1.18.2 go in Xenial? [06:13] furkan: knew that it was going to be released yes [06:51] I'll upload it to staging [06:56] and sid of course === broder_ is now known as broder [19:45] tjaalton: i just installed it [19:46] very nice CPU usage improvement, with my "ritual" test that i do after every xorg update [19:46] which is to open up top in a terminal [19:46] and then open up a nautilus window and drag it around the screen like a madman [19:47] 1.18.1, i was getting about 33%, 23%, and 15% between Xorg, compiz, and nautilus [19:48] after installing 1.18.2 and rebooting, now it's down to around 25/15/5 [19:49] still pretty bad compared to windows, but good progress [19:50] i imagine it'll continue to get better if eric wants to get X to run smoothly on the rpi, with that kind of hardware he'll need all the CPU optimizations he can get [19:53] tjaalton: interesting bug though, i have a stray cursor just sitting there on my secondary display (which is rotated) [19:56] furkan: file it, i'm not here atm [20:02] will do after some more experimentation [20:04] well i restarted lightdm and now it's gone, so i guess it might not be easy to reproduce [20:15] also noticed another bug where some grey text in firefox is rendered in red... back to normal after downgrading to 1.18.1 [20:15] would help to be able to do a bisect, if that's possible
