misc--hi there.... I have the latest stable lubuntu (15.04) and followed the instructions on the lubuntu lxqt wiki to install lxqt. It installed fine but when I log out, I don't see the LXQT option to log in with. Is there something extra I need to do?02:31

loptaIn Synaptic, if I mark sylpheed for removal it wants to remove the lubuntu-desktop. Is there no clean way to remove this?14:31
tewardlopta: lubuntu-desktop is a metapackage14:31
tewardit refers to all the other packages that get default installed on the Lubuntu image, I believe.14:32
tewardremove something that's autoinstalled by that, it pulls the lubuntu-desktop metapackage, but the rest remains installed14:32
teward(may impact future version upgrading if you try and upgrade in place though and don't have that metapackage)14:32
loptaSo removing it won't break the desktop?14:32
tewardIt shouldn't, no, but it may impact your ability to cleanly upgrade to a newer version if you try and upgrade in place14:32
tewardif that's the only thing getting removed, then it won't, but if it tries to pull out lxde core or something, then you'll break it14:33
loptaIf I were deploying this to a fleet of desktops, could I script the package removals?14:46
loptaThis is the first time in recent years that I've tried lubuntu. I like it.14:54
freddylisbonThe Lubuntu wiki says it is Ubuntu with lighter desktop (KDE?), and does not include some intensive pre-installed apps.  Is there a detailed comparison somewhere on the differences?16:12
tewardfreddylisbon: LXDE, not KDE16:19
teward(KDE's not lighter :O)16:19

diffisfreddylisbon: What do you mean by 'differences'? Pre-installed applications, package list, system requirements or something else?16:41
