[02:31] hi there.... I have the latest stable lubuntu (15.04) and followed the instructions on the lubuntu lxqt wiki to install lxqt. It installed fine but when I log out, I don't see the LXQT option to log in with. Is there something extra I need to do? [02:31] 15.10 I mean [04:10] how to save/restore X session on lubuntu? [04:10] can't find anywhere === rrr_ is now known as bq === PresidentPip is now known as Pipton [14:31] In Synaptic, if I mark sylpheed for removal it wants to remove the lubuntu-desktop. Is there no clean way to remove this? [14:31] lopta: lubuntu-desktop is a metapackage [14:32] it refers to all the other packages that get default installed on the Lubuntu image, I believe. [14:32] remove something that's autoinstalled by that, it pulls the lubuntu-desktop metapackage, but the rest remains installed [14:32] (may impact future version upgrading if you try and upgrade in place though and don't have that metapackage) [14:32] So removing it won't break the desktop? [14:32] It shouldn't, no, but it may impact your ability to cleanly upgrade to a newer version if you try and upgrade in place [14:33] if that's the only thing getting removed, then it won't, but if it tries to pull out lxde core or something, then you'll break it [14:46] If I were deploying this to a fleet of desktops, could I script the package removals? [14:54] This is the first time in recent years that I've tried lubuntu. I like it. [16:12] The Lubuntu wiki says it is Ubuntu with lighter desktop (KDE?), and does not include some intensive pre-installed apps. Is there a detailed comparison somewhere on the differences? [16:19] freddylisbon: LXDE, not KDE [16:19] (KDE's not lighter :O) [16:19] :P* [16:41] freddylisbon: What do you mean by 'differences'? Pre-installed applications, package list, system requirements or something else? [18:37] pre-installed apps & package list (LXDE!, thank you) [18:42] hi all [18:42] i'm trying lubuntu xenial daily build and i found a bug [18:43] ubiquity is broken when trying to create encrypted partitions [18:44] Bug #1490824 [18:44] bug 1490824 in ubiquity (Ubuntu) ""unsafe swap space detected" error prevents encrypted install when swap partition exists" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/1490824 [19:42] freddylisbon: For packages, see http://askubuntu.com/questions/50077/how-to-get-a-list-of-preinstalled-packages For example lubuntu 14.04 64 bit http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/releases/14.04/release/lubuntu-14.04-desktop-amd64.manifest [21:10] Diffis: thank you! === e is now known as puptime
