[00:10] mariogrip: hah! I'd forgotten all about that [00:11] mhall119: :D [00:11] * mhall119 blames cwayne [00:11] :P [00:11] bahahahaha [00:12] that was in copenhagen right [00:35] hey gusy I am trying to flahs my arale but I am getting this error: error pushing: failed to copy '/home/renato/.cache/ubuntuimages/ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/meizu.en/arale/version-276.tar.xz' to '/cache/recovery//version-276.tar.xz': Read-only file system [00:35] how I can fix that? [00:38] mariogrip: can i pm? [00:39] n1cky: yeah, sure [03:00] awesome stuff with the OPX mariogrip === _salem is now known as salem_ === salem_ is now known as _salem [13:05] I am having some trouble installing apps. I get an error stating that the download or install failed. It looks to me like the download is going just fine so I assume the problem is with the install. I'm using a Nexus 5 with the ubuntu-touch/ubuntu-rtm/14.09 image, but I don't think that it's actually 14.09 because it uses a 15.10-looking wallpaper on bootup and looks modern and is also responsive. It's the only [13:05] image that I've found that actually boots and matches that previous criteria. [13:05] Where are the log files for me to look at to see more details on the error, and how do I look at them without being able to install a Terminal emulator on the phone? [13:15] I was able to get the adb shell going just fine and I have root access. Attempting to find log files now [13:16] Whenever I try to install something, /var/log/syslog mentions that the packagekit daemon starts. I'm going to take a look at what's going on there b/c I can't find a specific log for packagekit. I'll look at it with systemctl status during runtime === Isla_de_Muerte is now known as NwS [13:17] Okay I can't actually do that even as root. I get "Failed to get D-Bus connection: Operation not permitted" [13:18] I can't do anything with systemctl [13:18] I get that error for everything I try with it [13:21] justthisguyyoukn, https://devices.ubports.com/#/hammerhead [13:21] use that ... [13:21] This is a different image than is advised on the Ubuntu wiki [13:22] I'll give it a go [13:34] 92818 [13:34] wrong box [13:44] That worked ogra_ thank you very much [13:44] :) [13:45] Why isn't that one mentioned on the Ubuntu wiki? [13:45] It seems like it should be [13:46] the server is mentioned ... above the tasemince server [13:46] but yeah, perhaps someone should clean that up a bit more with the right device names [13:47] Huh, I guess my reading comprehension just sucks lol [13:48] well, you most likely just looked for "Nexus 5" :) [14:47] yeah, the wiki really needs updated to point to ubports === DevBox|2 is now known as DevBox [15:28] hi [16:00] about 4.5 minutes after installing ubuntu touch I am now a fan of scopes [16:00] how did I ever live without this === wolflarson_ is now known as wolflarson [16:00] xD [16:01] that's good [16:02] apparently texting and data works but no calling yet on my device ah well I can work with that. [16:04] what is your device? [16:05] oneplus one [16:05] I think its my APN settings but the things my provider tells me to enter there are no options for yet. [16:06] Have you checked settings panel? [16:07] Mobile \ Operator \ APN [16:07] yes [16:07] https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/articles/205428698-GSM-Android-APN-Settings [16:08] Hi! IS there any way I can transfer notes from local to evernote-synced notebook? [16:08] there are not yet options in those settings to add MCC, MNC and such things [16:08] ok [16:09] extraymond, what about the Notes app? [16:09] according to the description it supports evernote [16:10] wolflarson, Yes I am talking about notes app. I have previously create some local stored notes, and would like to transfer it to the newly created one with sync. [16:10] wolflarson, i think if you use the ofono scripts you ca edit more APN aspects (via commandline) [16:10] yes, you can sync evernote notes [16:10] *can [16:10] The problem is If I changed to the evernote one, the local stored one disappear. [16:11] ah I see - you need to export your notes from one evernote to another? [16:11] thanks ogra_ I will take a peek! [16:11] To be precisely, from a local stored one to evernote account. [16:12] wolflarson, perhaps that gives some hints http://askubuntu.com/questions/413438/no-mobile-data-on-nexus-4-ubuntu-touch (i think it is outdated though) [16:16] wolflarson, Can I just find the directory that stored those notes and copy them into another folder? [16:17] I have no idea did you try it? [16:52] wolflarson, Can't find it... Just some config files for reminder-app [16:59] I guess you would have to take a look at how the program works but I have no idea. perhaps take a look around https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/notes-app [16:59] and "ask a question" [16:59] not sure if this is just for devs tho [17:00] you might need to put in a feature request for some type of export functionality [17:00] you can export data via Evernote [17:03] https://github.com/janimo/phablet-porting-scripts/pull/3 [17:29] has enabling user namespaces in the kernel been straightforward for you guys? [17:30] I can't get shamu to build with it, and I see that hardkernel has a patch from 2014 that was enabled to fix that [17:30] https://github.com/hardkernel/linux/commit/aa4ba07269ece18ebfaf1febbd78f395fdf40d7a?diff=split [17:38] https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/common/+/af30de36db7791c044d67f19fa9d263b2e748a13%5E!/ [17:38] Do I just want to revert this^? [18:06] what does everyone thing the best email app is? [18:07] needs to work with Active Sync and google accounts [18:15] Have you checked Dekko wolflarson? [18:15] it can work with Google accounts but I don't know if works with Active Sync [18:17] ill give it a peek [18:17] thanks [18:18] yea I am not sure if any device wil meet the security compliance part of active sync [18:18] any ubuntu device I mean [18:24] Hi all, i have my phone in a weird state where the dash is broken. It is completely green and the bottom edge to remove the dash does not work. It looks like receiving a phone call can break the dash. [18:27] what's your device taiebot [18:28] mimecar mako [18:30] mimecar http://i.imgur.com/egF3lxr [18:31] it looks a configuration issue [18:31] botton bar has the correct color [18:32] have you reboot unity? [18:32] mimecar: no it went like this after a phone call [18:32] has anyone thought of making an ncurses library that binds to QML? [18:33] mimecar received a phone call it went green as expecting during the phone call stop the call and now the dash is green all the time [18:35] you can reboot Unity on system configuration [18:36] wait, I can not find the option now [18:37] mimecar: i know i can reboot unity but the goal is to catch the bug for me to file a useful bug report [18:37] yes, you are right [18:38] can you force the bug again? (after rebooting) [18:38] mimecar: will try but i think someone needs to call me [18:42] taiebot, mimecar that's probably this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dialer-app/+bug/1556837 [18:42] Launchpad bug 1556837 in unity8 (Ubuntu) "Indicator area remains green after call ended" [Undecided,Confirmed] [18:45] yes, it is reported [18:45] taiebot: you can upload the same screenshot into the bug report [18:48] danchapman: oups already logged the bug [18:58] hey, what's bu_recovery? [19:03] okay, bootable recovery [19:03] mariogrip: ping, i can't build due to libtar intermediates not being available. We don't have that in the ubports manifest [19:03] I can't build the recovery [19:04] what's strange is that if I put it in the manifest and sync it, the intermediates still aren't built === Isla_de_Muerte is now known as NwS [21:29] What's happening to music and video scope is the server down? i have blank pages refreshing does nothing [22:21] hello [22:21] so... i forgot [22:21] how much do you like bugreports ? [22:22] there is one bug that's bugging me since OTA8 days ( i'm on rc-proposed arale ) [22:26] dhbiker: you should file it! [22:27] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Avengers [22:28] well [22:28] it's kinda system wide [22:28] not linked to the certain app [22:30] what happens? [22:32] if you play music and lock the device.... you can instantly unlock it with the "home" button [22:32] it's pretty annoying [22:41] seems like i'll have to be more active on bug reporting [22:56] do you not have a pin or password set? [22:58] nope [22:58] why would i ? [23:00] well, i don't think your bug will be fixed in a way that you want/expect it to. [23:01] seems like i'm off this platform then [23:02] because having pin/password on lock screen as an excuse for this bug doesn't cut it for me [23:02] because you have a phone with a button and when you press it it opens the launcher/dash, and becasue you don't have any security on your phone, it auto-"unlocks" ? [23:02] it's capacitive [23:02] on arale [23:02] meizu mx4 [23:03] it should be disabled when on lock screen [23:03] afaik [23:03] like always [23:04] well, that may be a valid argument [23:07] well it is [23:07] since IT IS disabled usually [23:08] just not when the music app plays [23:08] you mean it doesn't normally do that on the lock screen? [23:08] yep [23:08] that's why i'm classifying it as a bug. [23:08] oh, that is really weird [23:09] yes, that is a bug [23:09] it sounds to me like it's probably intentional [23:09] n1cky: i can't think of any valid reason for that [23:09] some kind of quick access to music functinoality [23:09] * n1cky shrugs [23:09] i very much doubt it [23:10] * ahayzen wonders what is going on as he missed the start of the conversation .. [23:10] dhbiker: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/music-app/+filebug would be a good place to file it [23:10] but we don't have any 'quick access' to music functionality other than the indicator-sound integration [23:10] TADA ! [23:10] dobey, what's the issue? [23:11] capacitive home "button" is not disabled on lock screen while playing music [23:11] on arale [23:11] interesting [23:11] it usually disables but not with music app [23:11] that'll be higher up than music-app [23:11] likely media-hub/qtmir level [23:11] finally someone :D [23:11] my mako and hammerhead don't have a button (and i don't play music on my phones anyway), so i can't test it myself [23:12] there was a bug *ages* ago, like 2013/14 where the touch screen was still active when playing music [23:12] so sounds similar [23:12] ahayzen: well, "lower down" ;) [23:12] dobey, hah yeah :-) [23:12] ahayzen: but music-app is a good place to file it to start, since it's where one probably needs to debug [23:13] dobey, well, it'd come to me..and then i'd just add media-hub/qtmir :') [23:13] dhbiker: does it also do it if you play a video and then lock the screen? [23:13] didn't try that since i don't use videos [23:13] i assume it'll be todo with the wakelock held from pulseaudio/media-hub when audio is played [23:14] ahayzen: ah yeah, maybe [23:16] in theory it should also happen when you play music from the scopes, or other places that keep playing music... [23:17] dhbiker: ^^ can you test playing music from the "my music" scope, and see if it does the same? [23:17] yes it does [23:17] same thing [23:18] cool [23:19] so do i need to report it somewhere ? [23:20] yeah, i'm not sure of the exact place... but media-hub/qtmir sound like good candidates to me [23:20] media-hub [23:20] then folks there will be able to reassign from that [23:20] mediahub whatever the actual package is called [23:20] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/media-hub/+filebug
