kaddiHi guys, i have a laptop with a high dpi screen. (3200x1800 on 14inch). Is there a theme for kde that'll make fonts large enoguh to be readable? Or do I have to adjust everything by hand?00:43
kaddiif the latter is the case, is there any advantage to mess with all the settings rather than just reduce resolution in display config?00:44
kaddisorry, I got disconnected.. Did anyone reply while I was gone?00:54
telegram<athoneycutt>: There is a scaling setting somewhere01:00
telegram<athoneycutt>: I know all the graphics are svg so they scale01:00
kaddiyeah, i actually tried that, got a crash on login of kdeinit4 (i think, I didn't write it down stupidly) but even though the windows where there was no background, taskbar, etc.. Tried to run plasmashell, but that made no difference01:04
kaddion the next login, it just ignored the scale setting01:04
kaddiand went back to the miniature look01:04
kaddiI'm back to using a 1900x1080 resolution instead of the large one01:05
telegram<athoneycutt>: Mm odd I know 5.4 or 5.5 added more support for high resolution01:06
kaddithe option with the scaling is there, but it just caused a crash on login when I scaled everything to 1.4 and restarted the PC01:07
telegram<athoneycutt>: What version are you on 15.10?01:07
kaddi5.15 apparently01:09
telegram<athoneycutt>: 5.15?01:10
kaddimyrti@mytree:~$ kdeinit5 --version01:11
kaddiQt: 5.4.201:11

kaddiusing kubuntu 15.1001:11
kaddiah01:11
kaddisorry01:11
telegram<athoneycutt>: did you add the backport ppa?01:11
kaddino, i don't think so01:13
telegram<athoneycutt>: it adds more updated packages that did not make it into the release01:14
telegram<athoneycutt>: I'll grab the blog post01:14
kaddithx01:14

kaddiand 5.4.3 is better for high DPI screens?01:18
telegram<athoneycutt>: it could be, not sure tbh but new packages are always better when it comes to KDE :)01:19
telegram<athoneycutt>: some of us are still on 1080 lol01:19
kaddiI'm gonna have to disagree... I was one of the early adopters with kde4.... Newer definitely wasn't better then ;p01:20
telegram<athoneycutt>: that is a good point01:20
telegram<athoneycutt>: I've had very little issues in Plasma 5 though01:21
kaddibut honestly, with 5 it's been very smooth :)01:21
telegram<athoneycutt>: That is good :)01:22
kaddik, i'll let you know the outcome tomorrow. XD 300MB of downloads on my connection can take hours *whistle*01:23
telegram<athoneycutt>: alright we'll be around01:23
kaddi:)01:25

Ryan_OrzI upgrade my kubuntu from 15.10 to 16.04, I found that ksnapshot and gwenview have conflict because of dependencies.09:57
soeeRyan_Orz: just did the same :)10:00
soeefirst of all remove ksnapshot and install spectacle10:00
soeeprobably your printscr shortcut button wont work then so you either have to set it manually to trigger spectacle to remoce one file from .confg/10:01
soeei think it was .config/khotkeysrc10:02
soeewhen it comes to gwenview, remove package called: libkipi-data10:02
soeethen reinstall gwenview or run apt-get -f install10:03
Ryan_Orzis spectacle a rpm spec generator ?10:04

Smurphydid dmesg tell you something about the sound ? Maybe you hit the  mute key.14:48
markslawtoo easy. nothing muted, nothing playing. something got switched when i rebooted this morning, and I can't find it.14:50
markslawi've tried looking in system settings -> multimedia -> audio and video and nothing seems to work when I change it. also, it seems a little "gray." maybe it's the light, but could THAT mean something? everything seems to be responding when i click on it.14:52
SmurphyHow about your /boot directory being full, and the system was unable tro correctly build the initial-ramdisks which are loading the drivers ?14:54
