clivejowhen I use dch to increment to a particular version, why is it signing the entry with the previous person?11:10
vip[11:31] <vip> installer not started, and the destop folder is too small 11:11
clivejoif I use "dch --newversion 5.20.0" surely that should use my name and email in the changelog?11:24
yofelclivejo: that depends on what DEBCHANGE_RELEASE_HEURISTIC is set to and whether the last changelog is UNRELEASED11:29
clivejogrrr11:33
yofelsee manpage11:34
clivejoI have seen it11:35
yofelI think you want a different heuristic and --increment. Then you can make it add a new changelog in any case11:35
clivejobut it must be because the previous version is UNRELEASED11:36
yofelyes, but you can make it ignore that11:36
* clivejo is trying to build frameworks from Neon/Unstable11:36
vipsoee_: and?11:37
clivejoI can do them manually, but was trying to hack the script (to better understand it) 11:38
yofelok wait11:39
yofelput DEBCHANGE_RELEASE_HEURISTIC=log into ~/.devscripts and try again11:39
clivejoyofel: its not important, just playing about11:39
yofelwell yes, but when I read maunally and script in one line I hear alarm bells :P11:40
clivejois this command right "dch --newversion 5.20.0-0ubuntu1 -D xenial -m "New Upstream Release 5.20""11:41
yofelalthough debchange handling is a bit annoying if you stray from the default workflow11:41
yofelwrong quoting, but otherwise yes11:41
clivejowhats the right way?11:42
yofelput single quotes around the changelog part11:42
yofelotherwise you have a syntax error11:43
clivejostill signing it off as you :(11:44
clivejohttps://paste.kde.org/pskij4zlt11:45
yofelhm..... I've seen that happen actually....11:45
clivejothere should be a --sign_as_me 11:46
* clivejo kicks dch11:47
yofelaccording to the manpage, you have something set wrong, because that behavior is the last-resort-fallback11:47

marco-parilloI am running the new Beta RC now. Wireless works. Firefox works (but the Favorites menu is empty). It boots straight to the live session, instead of the choice to try / install. I prefer that behavior (since I run live sessions frequently (say for on-line banking), but only install once), but it does not match the test case. On my display the install icon is actually bigger than the desktop folder container.12:06

yofelas a general FYI:13:07
yofelmysql 5.7 was accepted in xenial and should be available soon (in case someone hits akonadi issues)13:07
yofelclivejo, sgclark: The cmake FFE got approved, so we'll soon get 3.4 or 3.5 in xenial. I did a rebuild of the core stuff myself and I think we're fine13:07
yofelfun indeed. RAAAAAAAAAAGE13:08

soee_yofel: when ?14:06
yofelon the daily image14:06
soee_i tried few hours ago when new builds were avaialbel14:06
soee_it had the same bug14:06
yofelcould you then please mark at least one of the install tests as failed?14:06
yofelcurrently it looks like there's no really major issues with the images14:07
yofeland unrelated to the iso images - anyone there that wants to do upgrade testing? The test cases are there now. (Both from 15.10 and 14.04)14:12
yofelexcept that the test case title is the wrong one o.O14:18
yofel(when did we last edit that?!?)14:18
marco-parilloyofel: The live image basically worked for me. I marked the three bugs here: http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/358/builds14:25
yofelwere you able to successfully install it?14:25
marco-parilloI can try to kick off the installer from the live image if nobody has done that recently.14:25

sgclarkmorning. Actually got 8 hours of sleep.. but I feel like I missed something, do we have shiny isos to test?!15:06
BluesKaj'Morning sgclark, I haven't seen anything "shiny" yet. 15:17
marco-parillosgclark: Yes, but I noted the same three bugs as yesterday at: http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/358/builds15:18
BluesKajwith all the publicity about plasma 5.6 I'm surprised it hasn't "landed" in the Xenial ppas yet15:20
mamarleyThey are too busy working on the Xenial release.15:21
sgclarkBluesKaj: we can work on shiny new stuff or actually release a stable LTS15:21
sgclarkone or the other, too few to do both15:21
sgclarkI choose stable LTS15:21
* BluesKaj nods, understood, sgclark15:22
sgclarkI too like shiny stuff, and after release there will be lots. This being an LTS bumps stable importance15:22
BluesKajOMG Ubuntu had alink saying it was available there15:23
BluesKajbackaports15:23
sgclarklol yeah I have no clue who their source is...15:23
sgclarknot us obviously15:23
mamarleyThey probably pulled it out of their butts.  Sites like that are just trying to make money from pageviews.15:23
BluesKajany word about Kubuntu carrying on after 16.04 LTS?15:24
yofelwell, we don't intend to vanish, and we'll have to support 16.04 for the next 5 years anyway15:31
yofelwhat exactly we'll be doing in the future is open though15:31
sgclarkwhat yofel said15:31
yofelbug 1561051 is what I'm getting when I try to run the live session...15:31
ubottubug 1561051 in ubiquity (Ubuntu) "Ubiquity-DM dies on Kubuntu images" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/156105115:31
yofelI don't really get *what* fails here15:32
yofelOn the positive side, the installer seems to work again15:35
sgclarkgonna test on the new laptop donated to me!15:36
sgclarkof course with my super awesome internet speeds this week, that will be in an hour :(15:38
* sgclark drinks more coffee15:39

sgclarkcomcast cable. absolutely horrible ISP but they have no competition...15:41
yofelwhy does our slideshow link to userbase.kde.org o.O15:42
sgclarkwasn't that where we moved our doc or something?15:42
BluesKajI could have a faster internet , but it's expensive here in the semi-boonies with no real competition for the cable co, so they charge thru the nose for 20Mb speeds15:42
yofelmaybe, but don't we have website section for that?15:42
sgclarkoh probably. wasn't ahoneybun the one that worked on the slideshow?15:43
yofelmaybe... lets see what he has to say15:44
yofelhm... we have no default favorites in kickoff - I have the feeling that there are supposed to be some...15:49
rdieter_workyofel: fwiw, i've seen that occasionally for fresh users on fedora too, I suspect something going wrong with plasma-desktop script :  ./desktoppackage/contents/updates/obsolete_kickoffrc.js  (haven't filed any bug yet, but will soon)15:53
yofelrdieter_work: interesting, thanks. I *think* we have our own override of that, but the failure might still be the same15:54
rdieter_workyofel: well, we override the default favorites too, but seems that script botches things so it (often, not always?) ends up blank15:56
yofelmeh15:57
rdieter_workif I remove that script, I see favorites appear reliably (on initial login)15:57
rdieter_workyofel: found already reported, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35702916:05
