[06:17] why when we got flu and other yucky bugs we sleep lots [06:19] chesedo: bigger and better icons for buttons [06:19] Slightly more fluid [06:19] mornings [06:19] Ohi thatgraemeguy [06:20] hi thatgraemeguy [06:21] * chesedo 's only has a single button [06:22] wow, just discovered it also has tab completion [06:22] lol [06:33] uhm....Ok so I can eat more burgers as long as I sleep more :) [06:33] That's sounds like a win win hehehe [06:33] ai! [06:33] mazal just make sure you dream of exercising [06:33] :P [06:33] kewl :) [06:33] youll just get fat then need knee and hip replacements [06:34] Well the knee thing is already a problem anyway [06:34] and hyou weigh what? [06:34] Last time I weighed was 102 [06:35] But it was with clothes on , so probably 98 [06:35] you can try recover cartilage damage but taking a teaspoon of gelatine daily [06:35] to fat [06:36] and you how tall? [06:36] 1.82 [06:36] whew so nearly look like a beachball [06:36] My knee is from years of sport [06:36] gelatine will help [06:36] no moirs jelly [06:37] pure gelatine [06:37] no sugar in it [06:37] * Cryterion thinks Kilo's is trying to turn mazal into a marshmellow [06:37] it rebuilds the soft tissue in joints [06:37] hahaha [06:37] Morning [06:38] weight dlPhreak ? [10:47] then it mean the root directory is read write mounted [10:48] ok [10:48] now type between the quotes "sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop" and then enter. This will probably take a while. Let me know if there are problem after issuing the command [10:49] ok thks [10:50] command all good? No issues with dependencies? [10:51] failed to fetch quite list [10:51] ai! [10:51] can you ping www.google.co.za [10:52] by ping you mean? [10:52] type ping www.google.co.za and then enter. [10:55] cable connected [10:56] updates have been showing unable to downlload package files since a day or two [10:56] mm ok [10:58] is it a desktop? [11:13] wanted to reinstall the desktop, but he doesn't have an ip address in recovery mode. He also said that the updates hasn't been happening for the last two days [11:13] i suspect there is more problems than jsut xorg not working [11:13] could well be right [11:14] would the network auto configure in recovery? would it not have to be manually set? [11:14] dhcp does work in recovery, so it should've gotten an ip [11:16] but I would rather do a fresh installation. Will be quicker than try to resolve any other issues that might pop up with ubuntu desktop reinstallation [11:16] So is the concensus fresh install guys? [11:16] +1 [11:16] +1 [11:17] OK thks [11:18] Not a major issue but I will lose a few latest emails, no easy way to get the .thunderbird folder out? [12:05] i would suggest to backup you whole home directory as this is where all the config files for programs, browser settings, etc are stored. So in future when you have to do restore you just restore you home diretory and all the settings are back as is was. Even if you reinstall the programs [12:09] thks anton_may I do that at least once a month [12:10] you can do that with rsync daily weekly monthly or when ever suits you [12:10] oh that backup tool on unity actually worked well iirc [12:10] dailey then the amount is only as much as how much were added to the directory [12:11] wait what....kilos gave a compliment to unity oh.my.gawd!
